Re: Captain round 23

What about Didak? I know he's not "premium" this year but him and Brad Green show that anyone can be the sub

I don't count either as a premium given they're averaging 61.53 and 77.21.

Re: Captain round 23

Starting sub is not the worry because you'll know before the game and before cut off.

The concern is that him or Pendelbury will be subbed off early if they have no other injurys and are 10 goals up.

Yep. My biggest worry this round.

Going with Ablett. Just cannot afford the risk that Crazy old Malthouse might play some tricks.

Re: Captain round 23

What about Stevie J at Skilled stadium? Last 3 average is 146. He has scored v Melb 199 and V GC 155. Cats dominate down there, surely he should be considered strongly for Captain? Swan, Ablett or Stevie J and the decision is a tough one. Thoughts.

Re: Captain round 23

Cox? Clarke's out, thought there'd be more interest tbh.

Cox v Pendles v Ablett v Buddy

- Cox should go alright I reckon, leaning towards him.

- As others have mentioned, risky going mith a pie this week due to resting/sub etc.

- Ablett....How does he go against the Dees? Who will go to him? Really not sure, but probably my 2nd/3rd choice.

- Buddy is obviously very unpredictable. With all the talk of a late change or 2 for the Hawks tomorrow, even if it's not him, how much game time will he get if the Hawks get a handy lead early? Will relish the fact there's no Lake or Morris though.

Thoughts appreciated guys...

Re: Captain round 23

Forgot to mention that Stevie J had the bye last week and should be well rested for the game on Saturday. Max 18 degrees, no rain forecast, some clouds. Perfect conditions. Also, the Cattery is a fortress for Geelong, they don't lose there and it is a ground opposition generally don't play well. Man, do I take the gamble on Stevie J? Am tempted to go Swan, but will Malthouse sub him off or rest him at some stage? Dunno. Fremantle will be a pushover for Collingwood over there, Swan should score well and Collingwood should win by 75 points plus. Swan has been good for me as Captain. I should probably stick with him.

If I go out on a limb and say that you mean Clark, it's pretty irrelevant - Leuenberger has been our main ruck all year and Clark would've only rucked five minutes a quarter, probably against Natanui. Now we'll probably through Maguire or McKeever in the middle for those five minutes.

- Ablett....How does he go against the Dees normally? Who will go to him? Really not sure, but probably my 2nd/3rd choice.

Illnino - Cox was scoring well until Nic Nat came back in the side, since then, his scores have dropped off and there has been talk he is carrying an injury.

Ablett could have a blinder against the Dee's, its the MCG and Dee's have been ordinary this year.

Buddy is unpredictable, and is more team orientated now, so less chance of a big one.

I don't reckon that Swan and Pendles will be played any different tonight. Swan is a safe bet IMO.

Re: Captain round 23

No question Gary

He gets 140 with a hard tag

Imagine what he'll do against one of the softest teams in the comp

180 for Gary this week

Not many GC players will get their portion of the 3300

Cheers. For someone who lives in QLD, I really don't watch enough Lions games...

Thanks a ton HD, I've decided Ablett it is....though I do have a feeling Buddy could be in for a big game against the Dogs tomorrow.

Re: Captain round 23

No worries Illnino. I've made the decision to go with Ablett as well. Good luck to us both!
