so, is anyone giving KSC a chance this weekend or will thurgoona just be evpected to turn up and leave with the flag ??

i give them a chance i tipped them awhile ago to make the final i just think the doggies will get over the line, with the hawks playing 2 big games and a qrt against barny. will b a good game out there this weekend. richo the impact player of the final comes of the bench and kicked around 6-3 and 5 (i think) very smart footballer. as for mitta what happens now, they better start looking for a new coach because narra wont be there. nellys where do they go do stewart and olsen stay hollands will b talking to them, martin dont think he will b welcome back. big fraser, teunon mcevoy what are the plans.. big dollars spent to not make a grand final

Who's spent the most on recruits this past season for little return come finals time Wahgunyah, Barny or Mitta?

I don't think Barny belong in that group. They don't seem to have spent much and were very competitive - great job by the coach. As for who has wasted the most money out of the other 2....it's too close to call.

+1 I think it will be an epic final.

If Bulldogs turn up to play they'll win. If they think it will just happen, its going to be close. Personally, Thurgoona hasn't played in a GF(could be wrong), and lets face it GF is nothing like a final. In past few years, they've won just 2 finals games..?(could be wrong) So hopefully they can pull this one in... and have a win.

Well I have been wrong in recent posts (Wahgunyah comments especially) and this will be a close one. Kiewa have a few players who have the GF experience but Thurgoona are far better drilled and more skillful side.

Thurgoona by three goals....

Any news on the silly season? Any coaching movements? Bradshaw must be a chance to head to Howlong and join his brothers.

i don't buy into the lack of Gf experience with Thurgoona, they have a few premiership players with Culcairn who also played in the GF last year. The magpies guys played in 1 or 2 when in the Coreen League, so the big stage won't bother them. Thurgoona will win easily KSC spent too much energy getting there. Expect the new Thurgoona club rooms to have no roof late saturday night after the 1 and 2 get up they will lift the roof of the place.

Great effort by KSC to beat Mitta in that fashion and reach the grand final after starting in the elimination. Despite KSC's winning form, recent finals experience and competitive games against the dogs this season, I expect Thurgoona to win comfortably (I'll go with 38 points).

In fact, some very 1 sided grand finals this weekend would not surprise me. Thurgoona have been quite dominant in both seniors and reserves. As have Chiltern 3rds. KSC and Wahgunyah respectively will definitely have their work cut out. But having said that, it wouldnt be the first time I have been wrong....

bradshaw would have to be thinking about howlong, also got told that a hume club (rand) are chasing jones and mansell then that leaves the dederang guys with a big hole again, watched a couple of there games this year with jones and bradshaw there best and mansell coming good in the 2nd half of the year.
a old mitta player coaching out in the upper murray might b after a few of the mitta boys, dont a few work together for danny cohen?
barny might b the early pace setters with maybe the 2 dicksons and a few other raider boys went and watched barny this year 2 and with the team they had if they keep everyone and add a couple will be a big 2012 for the tigers.
does jack russle come back to the tdfl or does he have another crack at the o&m hoppers already losing a few.
how is liam clayton going with yack they had a good year with the young group is he in talks with anyone
what about coaches any news?????

I know some of the lions boys. They are disappointed. As for money spent, they tell me they would not have spent no where near what the other top five sides did. Thurgoona would have paid a fortune with the likes of DONNAN, COSTELLO, HUTCHINS plus what they already had such as MELLIOR. As for Wahgunyah, 19 out of the 21 were locals or juniors from the club. ROBERTSON and PIERRI only two non locals. As for Plugger being the higest paid in the league, the lions boys laugh. No where near it. One day it will come out how in fact little he was on to what every one thinks.

THis weekend, KSC by 4 to 5 goals.
Thurgoona to win GF by a long way...,

I think you'll find that the boys from Culcairn (Donnan, Hutchins, Kannenberg, etc) got sick of traveling for training all the time and since they all live in and arond Thurgoona, they decided to play for the Dogs for a lot less than what you are suggesting. And despite your vain attempt to cover it there is little doubt Pierri is on substantial coin out at the Lions den. I know 2 committee members from 2 other clubs that he had spoken to and offered his services......they confirmed that his asking price was similar to the "rumoured" price. But he helped get your team to the finals so he may have been worth it.

Has anyone got any news on the Chiltern coaching job. With both their junior sides in the G/F on the weekend it would be pleasing for anyone looking at putting their hand up for the job. Looks like they are building from the bottom up but the job is keeping them at the club.
P.S Pierri was embarrassing in the finals and the lion supporters must have been disappointed with effort.

have it on good authority Jones ,Mansell,Bradshaw all signed 2 year deals with dederang it will be interesting to see if they let Bradshaw go also heard they have signed 2 gun onballers already(no names yet) with more to follow

ive been told by howlong sources that theres no room for matt bradshaw in there side

no room for him in there side or no room for him in the bank balance. the 2 d bradshaws would b on a packet put steve bradshaw in there there steve foury they dont play for nothing maybe they trying to keep up with holbrook and there dollars. if dederang have signed them 3 up and signed 2 gun midfielders as said by danilejohns they would have to be looking ok really need a key back to help out jason gentile and with mitta not happy with luke martin... well he was close to them before hand

yeah agree there 100% too, i hear dan might take the CHF position with darren to continue at full forward and i also hear jnr Cannon is a chance to make his senior debut with a strong pre season under his belt

He is not allowed to play the grand final this weekend after it was found that he is ineligable. He should not have played against us in the prelim but NEFN Hub told WFC (incorrectly) he was eligable.

My suspicion (but I dont know for sure) is when the Hub looked at his games they incorrectly counted the 2 finals he played (while their seniors were in). This bought him to 5 games in the reserves (3 Home & Away, 2 Finals). I think you need 4 reserves games in the HOME & AWAY season (along with no more than 8 senior games) to be eligable for a reserves final where the clubs senior team is not also playing.

Bit late for us unfortunately so we have to cop the 10 point loss against a side incorrectly allowed to field a proven performer at senior level with O & M experience. Fair to say we're not pleased. But I suppose Administrators (like Umpires) are human and make mistakes that we just have to deal with.

I aslo suspect (but again dont know) that Wahgunyah also knew he didnt meet the eligibility criteria but checked with the league partly hoping they would give them incorrect advice they could fall back on. Just to clarify, I DONT think Wahgunyah cheated in any way. But I do think they "beat the system" so good luck to them.

At the end of the day, we lost. They are playing in the grand final this weekend and we are not so im never going to win this argument.

dont think itll matter either way, thurgoona will be way too strong in both 1s and 2s

Hats off to the Kiewa Footy Club on your 2011 Premiership.
Was watching a good game of footy waiting for Thurgoona to kick clear, but the Hawks did what they have done in every final this year and dug deep to run over the opposition.
As a neutural supporter I was amazed with the lack of atmosphere during the game considering the size of the crowd.

Congratulations to Kiewa-Sandy Creek on their 2011 premiership (and proving my prediction wrong). Memorable day for the club claiming upset wins in the seniors and U17s. Comiserations to Thurgoona, but also well done on making the senior grand final and winning the reserves

Firstly, well done to kiewa, but what a disgrace from the bar how could you run out of beer, twice not good enough.

run out of beer before half time run out of most food the bbq was cleaned up before half time that is a disgrace the crowd was more vocal over this then the footy all day. beechworth had the duties and with the word around town that andrew carey is playing there next year you would think they would be trying to make every dollar so they can pay him..... what a joke running out of beer and food.

I know really i thought the crowd may go mental!!! Luckily there were no mitta senior sides in or there may have been lots of brawls!!!!

If there was a lack of atmosphere i'm not sure where you were?? Was sitting near the bar and kiewa crowd were loud as most of the day. Only pity was there were hardly any thurgoona people there to have any banter with. Good fun yelling at all the big money thurgoona recruits though. Think Donnan was pointing at Culcairn every time he kicked a goal hehehe!
Also congrats to Kiewa hard to pick a bad player. Jye Shields huge (16 mind you), Jack Rhodes played the best quarter of footy i've seen in country footy in the last and wylie jackson was dominant in the backline!!

[Expect the new Thurgoona club rooms to have no roof late saturday night after the 1 and 2 get up they will lift the roof of the place.[/quote]

So i am guessing the roof is still on ?:):):):):):):):)
