So WTF was up with Danyle Pearce the other night. Have him as a late Ultimate Footy pick and he was atrocious statistically. Barely got a touch after half-time. Was he playing a defensive role or just that bad. Thinking of trading him out for one of the Crows muppets or a young up and comer. His pre-season was pretty good, will he get better? Thoughts would be much appreciated

Copped a heavy tag, which he wasn't used to on a HBF. Can't see him going that poorly again, but he's always struggled with tags.

so do we believe Matty Primus and what he's saying about Kornes (ie no longer tagging, free to run around and chase possies)? If true it puts Kornes back on the fantasy map.
How was his game on the weekend? Did he look like he was free-wheeling through the midfield the whole time?

He may be chasing possessions again, but I doubt he'll be allowed to be the cheap possession winning seagull he was under Choco. Primus will want him to get the ball, but he'll want him to earn it. He should be better than last year, but he won't match his peak again. Brad Ebert probably a better bet if you're after a Port mid, has the same scoring potential but at a cheaper price.

you dont think you're selling the old fella short? Kornes got alot of the ball because he was tagging stars who paid him little respect. He would stop them and run off them. That takes a great deal of stamina. So now he's being asked to get the hard ball and dish it out to the young brigade? Interesting. I can see how that does not necessarily equate to a fantasy bonanza. Still, he's sure to make a lot of contests. Thanks for your answer.

What's happened to Jasper Pittard? I'm not a Port fan, but I thought he was a really good up and comer last season. He's just been put onto the 'indefinite' rating on the injury list. Does anyone know why?

I doubt butcher plays this week - primus has been ultra conservative with our young guys over his time as coach. If they have a doubt, he will rest them

i see no reason why surjans form wont continue. last year was an abberation for him, and I would expect a good year for him

he will spend time there, but is likely to spend a lot more time in the midfield in the coming weeks
