Its not the best of fields but the amount of traffic it receives week in and week out its not too shabby, However tomorrows game against UQ is kicking off an hour earlier in each grade at Oakman Park (Union Street, Toowong)

Anyone familiar with that ground?

This is the Alexander ground Rooster?? You don't have alot of juniors do you? Where does all the traffic come from?

We have our old boys and girls team running out of there too, as well as touch every other night of the working week. We use to also have lil A's till recently and this year UQ has been using it a little bit since their ground isn't up to scratch yet

Well what a cracker of a game until 3/4 time - I said after the practice match between Redcliffe and Nambour that Redcliffe had a good fitness base. I was wrong - Nambour smashed them in the last 1/4 today and it was all fitness. Redcliffe can hold their head up, but they need some work on the track to be a real threat. No's 18, 21, 9, 22 are all quality players but are not fit. I heard #18 berate one of his players for not running harder onto the ball, if he was fit enough he would have delivered it with more penetration.
Nambour were challenged and were only 2 goals up at the last change. The quality of this side then stood up. #51 was not missed - god help the league when he returns. Nambour had any number of avenues to goal and share it around well. If #30 for Redcliffe ever plays seniors again then I know that Redcliffe will not be vying with Nambour for the flag.

How was ther bloodbath at Logan?

I am now looking forward to Redcliffe v Caboolture next week. If Redlciffe win - Nambour have the flag.

How did I know you were going to be the one crying?

not crying mate, you put yourself up as some pontif of footy and talk about players having beers with each other and how clubs should act , yet your clubs policies are a disgrace. hope you do play them and i hope logan kick there arse. Have a nice day.

SO making all the spots in all our grades competitive and needing to be be earned is a disgrace. Righto.

I'll let every other University club and team that the policy is a disgrace.

mate that would be fantastic, but realy we only want a level playing feild in our comp, not a final five dictated by the bye in the division above us.

I hear your concerns and will pass them on to the committee who put the policy in place.

Having a lot of mates in the 3rd/4ths grades, please believe that I will be very disappointed if we did something like drop 10 or more guys into the grade, which I doubt very much will happen. I would be shocked and appalled if we dropped more than the fringe players of the 2nds/3rd squads. But come June 30, it won't matter all too much when the cut off of transfers come.

It is a great position to be in that you can have the chance to run those fringe players and let them prove themselves. I guess like you I too would be disappointed if that were the case that a good number were dropped back. Our reserves came up against a very quality UQ Reserves due to a few changes higher up but that's just footy.

Ipswich have just started a new youth policy that gets their younger boys a spot in the Seniors over some of the better older guys. I can see their idea/goal but if they aren't playing next to Older and experienced heads the tactic is sort of pointless. They will be a dark horse in the magoos now.

Surprised at the Logan v Beenleigh result as I thought it would be a close one. That "surprise" they were talking about must've been a fairly good one. How'd the Surfers boys go this week Morro/KP?

Hear, hear!

Spots between the 2nds and 3rds is extremely close these days, and it has often seen 2 or 3 guys elevated but at most the same amount being dropped down. (Bar exception was Round 1 when it was a ridiculous amount).

Care to explain how someone saying that it's good to see clubs having beers together after a game equates to that person imposing their beliefs on how clubs should act? There's a big difference between an observation of good sportsmanship and the dictatorial behaviour you're trying to pin on RUL.

Disappointing that our seniors couldn't quite get over the line because I thought they were the better team on the day. I guess that's what happens sometimes in footy. Im not going to get drawn into the team selection issue again with you IPW, it's been explained to you a number of times and to be honest it's got none of your business; you wouldn't want to be telling other clubs how they should act would you? People in glass houses...

I guess it's a fine line between creating a competitive internal culture and upsetting your regulars in lower grades. It would be a tough call for coaches I'm sure. I know how hard it is with only 2 sides, let alone what your panel must go through.

Have you had any backlash from players? Or have they taken it in their stride?
