We got pick #21 for Sylvia. We should either use it on Zac Jones or Dunstan or Dumont, or trade for Vince. Don't think we'll go for Lyons any more, unless Adelaide are happy with our third or fourth rounders.

Would love to move 36 up to a high 20s pick. Wonder if anyone would taken 36 + 53 for a pick around 26-30?

Seems like a small move but it could increase our chances of getting Jones.

I just read on the AFL website that the reason the pies are so keen to get pick 6 fro West Coast is to snare Bontempelli as they know that the Giants were into him in a big way and were worried he would be gone at pick 9.

But now that the Giants have pick 2 do they dare take Bontempelli that early? I doubt it, so hopefully the pies take him at 6 and we are left to get Freeman at 9.

I think the 2-3 players we were considering at #9 (considering we think that 1-2 of those will be available according to Mahoney) would have been Kelly, Freeman and Bontempelli on what I've heard.

Kelly is the obvious one, as a classy Vic mid.

Freeman and Bontempelli I've heard we're keen on - just through rumor though.

Would be happy with either Crouch or Freeman.

and Jones at 40...

and Garlett 57...

Wouldn't that be wonderful.

Jones at 40 would need a miracle, but Garlett at 53 or 57 is plausible. The question is whether Roos would take him.

Crouch won't go in the top 12. Its Freeman at 9. KK will go top 5. Jones will go in top 20.

I sort of do hope Jones goes before 20, if only to placate my disappointment that we've traded away two early 20s picks that might have been in the range he'll go.

I think we a a bit short on our key defence back up, if Frawley, Garland and McDonald are in the best 22, we only have Pederson and possibly Hogan to drop back if a couple of them are out injured, if we draft a mid with 9 then either 40 or 57 should be used on a key defender IMO, possibly a mature age just for back up purposes

Cameron Giles or Tom Cutler are decent Talls. Cutler is more Med/Tall at 190cm.

you want to miller him?

He killed it (relatively speaking) floating around the backline against Freo in Perth this year. Ok as an emergency/panic option but I'd riot if we started him down there.

You are right - we do need to develop more KPD depth. But not stop- gap mature age guys, we should be looking to draft a young KPD in the 40s/50s whatever...

I'd be happy with Freeman/Bontempelli/Crouch/Dunstan...& Jones (good to have brothers together) & Garlett. Then a slider in PSD or a disgruntled trade gone off the rails Adams??? & Jurrah late would be delicious as Bruce would say.
