This has nothing to do with whether they'll be the best five midfield rookies at this stage or not. I was merely asking a question to VSTone about how he plans to use the VC loophole, but then I answered my own question when I realised with 44 trades, you could simply trade back in a decent midfield rookie the next week.

It's frustrating how many pedants there are on this forum.

Only person being pedantic here, is you champ.

I've personally blacklisted Stanton after last years second half. Don't care if he's injury free now he's still a downhill skier.
I'd take Murph but that's a bit of a price gap have you thought about Swallow/Danger/Sidebottom/Thompson/Kennedy/Mitchell?
I'd probably prefer any of those to either of your choices because Murphy could get heavily tagged and Stanton, well, read first point. Haha.

I think there is a good chance theyre all in the top 8 at this stage

I concur, but say one of them isn't selected for Rd1 for whatever reason, would you still select him? Because if you would it would be the same as someone else selecting a guy they feel is in that top 8 mid rooks who also isn't named for Rd1...just sayin'

That was my fault... He was fine until I traded him in.... Sorry....

You and I both. Pretty sure I bought him very close to his peak.

He completely and utterly spudded it up from the time I brought him in...

And I only did it when Swan was injured and looking at missing the games after/around his bye. I had this plan that would minimise pain for the bye rounds and I needed that extra player for that bye week. And then Swan came back early and Stanton just plummeted in value.... w***er....

Im tossing up between Boyd and Deledio. Have had both in my team since I started dreamteam a few years back, but only have space for one of them. Chose Lids over Cotchin cos I see Cotchin being heavily tagged this year. Thoughts?

IMO

95 + 90
vs
105 + 80

Can't split them. I'd personally go for Bartel and Robinson.

What about Roughead vs Robinson?

I would say Robinson. Though I think you could get alot of value out Roughy. As he is DPP and is also a very good POD, cant see too many people having him. So could be a very good pick who can rack up points when he wants. But if your not once for taking risks I would pick Robo as a safe bet

I had Roughead in for the longest time. Based it purely being different and the hope that he would pad his stats by being in the ruck - underestimated forward premium I feel. Coming off a season high though - would need to improve.

Mitchell and Macaffer
or
Franklin and Whitfield?

didn't he have a slight hammy that he played with because everyone else was already twanged up and unavailable?

Possibly. It was also around the time that Essendon stopped (allegedly) drugging every single player on the list, so that may have been the root cause... ;)

I'm still not quite convinced on Franklin to be honest. In saying that, I've been very convinced by Whitfield. So I'd say Mitchell and Caff if you want safety but Franklin and Whitfield if you want a bigger risk. I think the gap between Whitfield and Caff is probably 10-15 ppg, whereas the gap between Mitchell and Franklin is probably 5-10 ppg.

My question is, either one of them will go out for Stevie Johnson in round 2 so who will score the highest in the Geelong v Hawthorn match:
Chapman, Bartel or Roughead?

I'd wait to see who is named as ruckmen for Hawthorn, but at this point, based on past experience, either Bartel or Selwood will steal the show and be the stars in another tight win for Geelong...

That would make Bartel the logical choice....

A third of my team is made up of either Port or Brisbane players. This doesn't bother me in the slightest. The new rules mean that bye rounds are the least of my worries.

Just need to get two questions sorted and then my team is set. Zorko v Bartel and Goldstein v Kreuzer. Two former premiums looking to regain their best form versus two young players with a heap of fantasy potential hoping to have their first full seasons as premiums. ATM I've gone with Zorko and Kreuzer, but I know that these will be the questions that I toss and turn over until lockout.
Yeh lol half my team is made up of these 2 sides

Josh Kennedy (WCE) vs. Petterd

I would go with Kennedy. Scored well in a bad year for WCE. WCE on the improve so should get more ball. Petterd a bit of an unknown in a new side.

Dangerfield, Vlastuin and Macaffer or Whitfield, Hartlett and Varcoe?
