Connor Pain's an interesting one, he looked great in his game against Liverpool about a year ago but since then its all been fairly mediocre. I personally don't think he chases and tracks back hard enough either, but then that could just be what Muscat asked him to do last season (in staying up the pitch). Compare that to Berisha, who closes down defenders like crazy.

Connor Pain has probably been our best player during the pre-season games.

Hope he follows this form into the season.

I might be a bit biased, because he got me into soccer, but yeah, I love the way he goes about it. Was in my tutor group a few years ago at school, and taught me a few things.

He looked good last pre-season as well, that doesn't mean he'll perform in competitive games. Don't get me wrong, I hope he does come good, but I just don't think it'll happen.

His preseason form this year has been stunning. A quick guy like Connor will always run away from overweight part-timers. But he has acquitted himself well against the 'A' League teams we've played this pre-season too.

I'm with Redalert on Pain, pre-season form mean piss all unless you can back it up in the regular season. So far pain hasn't delivered in the previous two seasons and has only scored one goal (all be it one was horribly disallowed against Adelaide last season.)

Until he can perform consistently and make the starting squad regularly chip in with a few goals and assists, he'll always have his doubters, personally I think he has some great pace and skills but his decision making in the final third is very poor. hopefully he can have a breakout season, not the Rojas style breakout that he rips up the league but one that is just enough to say yep the kid has a future and will be a perfect replacement for Archie. So far I haven't seen that from him.

The Victory game is on at 9:30 in the morning on BT Sport but as my broadband is TalkTalk I can't get BT, gutted! Will have to watch it on a stream instead

Our memberships arrived a while back. But no sign of extras pack yet. Looks like this year's members cards on last year's lanyards.

i echo your statements.

if pain doesnt make it, he will be a serviceable squad player. equivalent of say an english player in the EPLs top teams, squad player.

Same. It's simply not good enough. I renewed my membership months ago, surely it's not too difficult to get things worked out from June/July to now.
Lanyard/scarf etc is not terribly important to me, but it's the lack of professionalism.

Try that official stream link I linked you earlier – other streams (of questionable legality) aren't allowed to be discussed on here :)
