Hawks had just the game they needed to prepare today. Sydney played against witches hats on Friday. Home ground advantage, no injuries (yet), Hawks flag to lose. Hawthorn by 12 goals.

Same thing could have been said about the 2012 preparation and look what happened there...

Battle of the two clubs built from stacking first 22 players from other clubs.

Clubs that are built from stacking crappy players from other clubs not invited.

Whilst there has been some pissing contests to see who the underdog is - I honestly think Swans justifiably go in favourites:
- Hawks shocking year with injuries, players not in peak form
- Some players losing a bit with age - Mitchell's slower, Hodge not kicking as well
- The Franklin factor - Hawks - 1 Franklin, Swans + 1 Franklin.

Still best 2 sides in it so anythung can happen. We were better in 2012 and look what happened.

Both sides are in the final with minimal injuries.

This is an even playing field. No excuses. And no whinging.

The best side will win and NO ONE on this board knows who that will be ... as it should be.

Rioli would be handy for this one, just to give Sydney the planning headache of who nick smith should play on.

Rioli would also be handy for pressuring the Rampe/shaw/Malceski/Rohan rebound.

Assume Rioli gets through today and will be selected.
Assume Lewis is ok to go.

Who do you see making way for Rioli?

I reckon Spangher. We experimented with him as a key forward yesterday and directed a lot of footy to him and it just didn't work.

If we need Spangher as a defender then suckling would be a little worried.

Yeah it's an interesting one.

Spangher was awful today but the Swans have the extra talls that Port didn't. Poppy didn't have a great game and I've heard suggestions of a like for like with Rioli but I'd honestly be staggered if Puopolo was left out.

Then there's the McEvoy and Sewell positions to consider.

Wouldn't be the same GF without some homoerotic commentaries from Bruce for his delicious.

It's the true tragedy of Rioli's run with injury.

I reckon had Rioli played every game we'd be at the point where calls like "yummy scrummy Cyril!!!!" And "Rioli LUBES it through the right hole" would be commonplace.
