Probably but just need to see and/or try to recognize.
Osso bucco sauce is just a slow cooked chunk of fatty meat in tomato sauce that gets rendered down. To make it simple.
A touch fatty, but rich.

The cabernet rosemary jus is just a heavy gravy.
You cook beef bones in water. Add plenty of stuff.

Let it go for 8 hours. Add rosemary. Reduce it. Add cabernet (red wine) reduce it. Add more stock. Reduce it.
Bloody great sauce if done well.

People just make shit sound exciting. Or confusing.

How many predicted Stokes to be leading at the half-way point?
I know he is sitting in 5th but seems a bit of a surprise to have Guthrie, Bartel & Taylor all ahead of him - Taylor seems the surprise packet so far, he seemed rather quiet at the start of the year but obviously was doing something right in the coaches eyes.
Not so surprised to see Hawkins in the top 5, maybe a little surprised he is leading at this point, so surely it will be hard for others to catch up to him as he seemed to have a very strong finish to the season.

I think someone mentioned they thought Stokes would lead until his injury. He wasn't quite the same when he got back, though, was he? :(

Great job! I was looking at that list thinking how the hell I'd explain it all. Restaurants like to make things sound fancier than they are I think. Like horseradish crème fraîche is just horseradishy sour cream.

Damn, just had Grill'd but now I'm hungry again :p

Maybe not yet- but he will have, soon. I think he was just incredibly nervous- he's only a young fella- and I liked his speech. If it had been me, I'd be in tears
Showed some class and maturity considering everything..

lol.

Yep just horseradishy sour cream.
creme fraiche is a bit different though. 99/100 would never notice the difference in a sauce. Me being one of 99.

I haven't had horseradish in ages :(

He seemed on fire in the first half and I think most of us had him leading the way until his injury - he is in the top 5 which isn't too shabby, but I'm a bit surprised by a few of the guys who are ahead of him. If names like Selwood, Rivers or Duncan were in the top 5 I don't think too many would be surprised because they all seemed to have consistent years or their best was well ahead of others (Selwood).

It will be interesting to see how Stokes polls in the bf MVP and how our voting compares with the club voting at different points of the season - how do the fans see the game/players vs the coaches.

And mushroom pithivier is just puff pastry filled with mushrooms, often with French flavours. I love pastry so thats the only reason why I know that :p
I didn't know what it was.

"Mushroom in puff pastry" works so much better. But who'd pay $500 to go to the dinner? :p

Oh- and I agree with you re Taylor. I thought his first half of the season was pretty meh....
