Good footballer, but you guys rookied him yeah?

Yes he's currently on our rookie list. With the long term injury to Brendan Whitecross who will miss most of 2014 with an ACL injury, we do have the option of elevating one rookie listed player onto our senior list. At this stage Ben Ross is likely to be that player.

What are people's thoughts on Zac O'Brien?

A good midfielder who can find the footy and is handy around the clearences. At this stage I'd say he's a depth player for Brisbane. I can't see him getting any games ahead of Beams, Lester and a few others.

Hope so, he deserves another crack.

Any Mature Aged Recruits worth keeping an eye out for in 2014 ?

Im going to go out on a limb here and suggest you were implying possible draftees, yes?

Some guys I have seen a little bit of in the VFL, it is worth keeping an eye out for;

----------------------------------------------
VFL stars worth keeping an eye out for
----------------------------------------------
Chris Cain (Port Melbourne)
Alik Magin (Bendigo Gold)
Kane Lambert (Northern Blues/Williamstown)
Dave Mirra (Box Hill)
Daniel Toman (Bendigo Gold)
Chris Michaliades (Sandringham)

----------------------------------------------
youngsters worth keeping an eye out for
----------------------------------------------
Corey Buchan (Frankston)
Anthony Tipungwuti (Essendon)
Jack Johnston (Williamstown)
Leigh Masters (Williamstown)

Matt Fuller had an elite kick at Norwood , the bulldogs should be looking forward playing in the backline
Know anymore about him mate? Have heard (and seen) about his kick but would love to know what else he has to his game, an elite kick coming out of the backline is exactly what we need so he should hopefully play a few games this year.

Great Work Ethic
Can kick with both feet
Reads the ball excellently
He was basically the driving force behind Norwood's attack

Very good all round player :D

Thanks for that mate, sounds pretty good and Is what we are lacking in the backline, being 23 he should play a fair few games this year, looking forward to seeing him in the Nab challenge!

Any young(isn) kids that should we keep an eye on ?

Going to mention Corey Buchan (Frankston Dolphins) again.

In his under 18's year won the TAC Cup goal kicking playing half a season and started slowly at Frankston but has now made a name for himself as a bit of a utility playing mostly as a hard running wing man who is strong overhead and uses the ball well by foot. Queries on pace but the footy smarts are there, rumoured interest from a couple of clubs last year but one to keep an eye on as he enters his 4th year of VFL football.

Only really aware of Box Hill Blokes:

The most likely apart from Mirra to press are:

Liam Tobin 187cm 22 year old Utility who keeps improving every year
Sam Collins 194 cm defender in his second year form Oakleigh Chargers
Mitch O'Donnell 179cm Rover in his second year out of Eastern Rangers

Still surprised no one has had a go at Cain.

Clubs have been looking at many of these players for a long time. If they were going to be picked up, they would have by now. I would be looking at guys who were overlooked last year and see if they can step up in state leagues: Darcy Cameron, James Tsitas, Isiah Miller, Tom Shanahan, Fraser Fort etc

James Podsiadly and Brett Goodes say hi.

I think the eagles could go for a mature age HBF as they have waters who is injury prone, ellis looks the goods but is also injury prone, brennan and smith are back ups at best.
who would be a good option from the state leagues to push for a spot straight away on a back flank?

19 year old key forward Mason Middleton finally made his league debut for West Adelaide and kicked 3.1. Mason was mentioned a bit around draft circles a few years ago.

Extremely talented but hasn't had the work ethic. Hopefully this is sinking in as he could be anything. Good start to the year though. Heard a rumour that the Hawks were keen 2 years ago but on advise from Westies went with Kaiden Brand due to this very reason.

Are we considering overlooked draftees as 'mature aged'? If so Ben Cavarra, Sam Heavyside and Aaron Heppel will all have a look in IMHO.

Shannon Taylor debuted for the Frankston Dolphins last week and he is just a class above VFL. Smooth mover, quick, good skills. Could be anything after having moved across from the west.
