So is everyone here farked if Sandilands goes down? I know I am with no playing rookies and 5k in the bank.
That's why we have trades, and he'll probably have made enough money to trade to anyone.

Who did Hampson ruck against the other night? I know Nicholls played but I'm not entirely sure who also rucks for GC (apart from Dixon). Hampson has never scored well in Supercoach and I know he has the ruck on his own at the minute, but I'm not sure he can score that well. Big risk for mine.

Not now that, he was up against a very very scary Premiership winning side, at the Launceston fortress.

Look what happened to Minson in a similar fortress against a side that didn't even make finals.. #1 Ruck for last year, 62 points..
I'm strongly awaiting the big score he's gonna get next week when Judd_Magic trades him out. There's a reason people shouldn't trade in round 1 for the most part.;)

Most will have to do 2 trades I'd think, but currie could be the savior

LOL!

I'll probably settle down by the time teams come out and not trade.

Was just disappointed in my score of 2,209 and when I look at Burger, Libba and Webster they were the main ones that let me down.

Didn't help having Langdon and Dunstan on the bench either. :(

Goldy
NicNat
Minson
Mumford
McEvoy or Jacobs
Jacobs?? Jacobs?? Wasn't that the guy you were calling the biggest spud you've seen 3 weeks ago?? No Goldy in that list?

NicNat scored 52, Minson scored 62, Goldy scored 89, McEvoy 108, Jacobs 113, Out of 4 quarters.

Luey scored 79 out of 3 (which equates to 105 for 4 qtrs).

Given one game is the be all and end all for a guide to the year, how can you assume Nic and Minson will at least double their output. That'd put Luey on 216 each week.

This is what you're going to get after round 1 , a lot of overreaction. FWIW i'd say Goldy, Minson, Mumford, Luey, Nicnat. Not sure about order.

In all honesty, the Hickey pick could quite easily go pear shaped and I have no idea how it will pan out. I just think that the odds are in his favour in that he is sole ruck atm and appears to be in good form (a small sample granted). I listened in to the radio broadcast of the final PA v StK NAB match as I wanted to hear how Clurey and Impey went and whilst those commentators are unbearable, they did mention numerous times about how well Hickey was playing and they were quite sure he was turning into a very good player. So I took a closer look at his numbers during the NAB and opponents played and saw that he averaged 92 ppm in the 3 games. As soon as Longer was out of the equation I thought it too good a value to pass up. Time will tell, but I am comfortable with my decision at this stage (obviously). If he can get me 70-80 most weeks I will be happy. Anything more is a bonus for the price I paid. It also allowed me to bolster my team in other areas with such awesome picks as Thomas and Suckling.

Well you asked for my top 5 and that's who I think they are based on scoring potential.

I'll give Burger another week I guess but I just have a horrible feeling he's going to disappoint me again.

Not his fault though, its just that bloody spud West is in the team.:thumbsdown:

PS.

I had Goldy at the top of my list. :thumbsu:

His score was pretty heavily inflated by rucking against the Doggies when big WIlbur was on the bench though.

I didn't know that - thanks. I still think he represents excellent value for money and I am confident he will serve me well. I'm not expecting huge numbers at all, just a steady 70-80 will do me fine until I can upgrade him. Might be tempting fate with him and Sandi but you only live once.

Ryder out.

Hickey in.

Let's see if this pays dividends by the bye weeks. Hopefully I can upgrade an appreciated Hickey into a Goldstein or Minson ...

Don't lock it in until he's be confirmed as a starter on Saturday,

carrying a 'niggle' - a little bit of doubt if he'll play, even though he is named,

Wonder how many went a 'set & forget' of having either or both(?) Minson & Goldstein?

Not currently producing at the levels of last year, who is confident of them both being No. 1 & 2 again?

Early days I know, but shows the potential danger in initially paying full tote odds for someone you consider your R1.

Sauce ticking along ok ATM,

Have Minson

Not particularly worried since game 1 was versus the WCE triple threat and since then has gone 120 and 103, which is certainly reasonable. Probably wasn't the best idea to start with him with WCE first up (particularly given the form of Sandi and Mumford but it isnt in the top 5 "mistakes" I have made this year.

Points against WCE

Minson 62
Spencer 32
Hickey 64

Hindsight is always 20/20 as well, but I am sure there were people worried about paying full price for that bald guy from Gold Coast when he might also be cheaper later.

Will be interesting to see how big Minson fares against the in-form ruck this week :D

I went for the set & forget method of Sandi + Mumford. :D

Went Mumford instead.

Happy until he breaks down ...
