What makes you think O'Rourke is gone? As far as I know he hasn't exactly set the world on fire at AFL or NEAFL level so it's hard to say if he's guaranteed senior game time elsewhere (from his point of view) and it depends how GWS see it, perhaps they want to extract some value while he's still got it (from a Giants list management point of view).

He played reasonably well on the weekend, at least. Hopefully he really comes on, good kid and should complement Treloar, Greene and Shiel well if he can move into that role.

Loved that tweet from Shaw, too. Liked that 'whitten oval - Google Maps' was open in the next tab - just doing his homework to find out which suburb the Western Bulldogs' home ground is in (gee people have short memories!) :p

JOR has talent, you don't get to be #2 draft pick in a talent loaded draft if you don't have it.
He is a slower developer than some of our guys, and because we are trying to get game time into as many as possible, those that develop faster get more game time right now.

And in regards to our first pick I'd suggest the best available regardless of position.

But my wants in order is

Petracca
Pickett
Brayshaw
Durdin
Lever

Anthony Miles says hello....and O'Rouke will be in the yellow and black next year as well.

Oh hai guys, just wondering if you see the saints and GWS doing anything together this year? Two clubs seem to have a pretty good trading relationship. You guys probably won the Lee trade, we probably won the Bruce trade, and the Saad/Milera was probably a break even. What are your opinions on the value of Stewart, Whiley and Jaksch?

Never say never on more trades between the two clubs.

Stewart: re-signed earlier this year til the end of 2016, he's regarded as a long term prospect so probably isn't going anywhere. If anything, like a chunk of our prospects he'd only be moved as part of a deal that's bringing back significant value like a 24-26 year old legit best 22 player.

Whiley: will probably go relatively cheaply to whichever club offers him a contract, ala Edwards, Darley, Bruce. Clubs will probably be more switched on to guys falling off the bottom of the list after Miles went in the second round of the rookie draft. Seems an outside chance that he stays.

Jaksch: best case scenario he stays, and I think worst case scenario we bundle him with our end-of-1st compo or 2nd round pick for an upgrade into the 1st round. Could be anything in between, really.

I also think JOR, Sumner, KJ, Frosty, and Tommo are all heading home. Hearing Sheil has had a change of mind and is more likely than not to re sign.

Heard that Shiel and a couple other guys will be announced soon (the sooner the better i say), and if we did trade Sumner and that pick turned into Pickett im all for it. But what makes you think Tommo is gone?

Long term concerns about being in the best 22. Best to leave whilst currency is high and Giants are fashionable thanks to Miles & co.

Unfortunately I agree with him, it may depend on whether Boyd Stays. Just want to get JC and Patton signed up on long term contracts. Can you arrange this for us captain?

Sorted!

Carlton apparently in the front seat to get Jaksch.

Say he nominates Carlton and is out of contract. What would Carlton have to offer? Pick 26? Would that be enough? Possibly a swap of later picks.

I dont think GWS have ever used a pick that bad, so if thats what Carlton offer, then I guess he'll look good in white, black and red via the PSD.

GWS have a history of being good to deal with, but it's important you dont let yourself get bent over in a Big Footy Special deal.

Hence I asked what he is worth. Obviously not a first rounder.

Docherty was pick 12 in 2012 played roughly the same amount of games as Jaksch has.

Nominated Carlton and was traded for pick 33.

No idea what players GWS would be interested in. But the only other scenario I can think of is say...

Pick 7 for Jaksch and Pick 20.

Now we're talking a deal thats within the realm of the doable - with that, we'd even be willing to throw in a slightly-used kid ruckman as steak knives, if they wanted to move (ie Phillips or Downie).
