So in regards to our ooc players does anyone have confirmation that downie and whiley are out of contract?

Also of our veterans who do people think will get another year?
Hunt?
Addison?
Gilham?

And will Schulz be given time on the rookie list after his injury ruined year?

On the vets wouldn't give any a new contract but wouldn't be against them getting a coaching dev role especially Gilham & Hunt who are already doing that role on a p/t basis.

On Whiley & Downie a new contract was never announced so its just assumed there only contracted for this year but I so hope we re-sign Whiley. On Downie its interesting that for the last 3 weeks his been playing as a key def in the neafl and has apparently been looking very good in that role.

I think Addison will get another year... Can't have everyone in the twos just kids... He wont cost much and can be a senior player there
 
I agree that addo is the most likely and being 27 he still provides good senior depth at an important age bracket. We still have an extended squad till 2018 and he won't cost much
 
Forgive the intrusion guys, did anyone watch Ed and Derms big week in football on Sunday, they were talking about Patton and him "supposedly" having a deal with the Dogs for $900K. I don't trust Ed or his sources but wanted to know if it was all BS or not?

PS, I am sure you are aware that Eddie is dribbling about the Giants and Suns being banned for a year from the draft on his MMM show, such a w***er

Rumour was Patton was offered that, and knocked it back.

With the current status of his knee, I'd say the deal has been withdrawn.

Eddie and Mick Molloy are the ultimate "$#!* for brains". Not usually a fan of Luke Darcy, but he was clearly the voice of reason on that panel.

The most hypocritical moment was when Eddie said "It's the typical Sydney mentality to just think about themselves".

On the plus side, if we beat them, then Eddie shoving Mick under the bus so Tony Shaw Mk 2 can coach will come under severe questions.

And I dont think we'll get a better opportunity, as our bottom tier of players is better than their bottom tier of players.

Let's hope so, because we'll be needing them to step up. The injury list is getting longer, even Shaw was cramping up late. Hoping that who's left standing will stand tall. Start living up to the slogans.

I have just been wondering if you guys think

Bulldogs first pick for Jaksch and Sumner or for Jaksch and your end of the first round pick, would be overs or unders?

it is a little tricky since there is a lot of interest in Jaksch

would be scary to imagine you picking up both Pickett and Petracca..
 
Ignoring the warm feelings you all have for Eddie at the moment (I acknowledge sometimes he sticks his oar in too much regarding other clubs) what do you guys see as the future of Cam McCarthy?

He was a KPF prospect when drafted. Next year, even with Patton out (which is just awful awful news), he'd still be behind Cameron, Boyd and Tomlinson I'd have imagined.

Further, unless you can wiggle up the draft order a little, you will miss Petrecca to Melbourne and instead probably get another good tall if you recruit the best available player.

Under that scenario, would McCarthy be someone you think the club would be open to offers on? And what would be a fair price?

In more general terms, how has he gone this year (hasn't debated unless I missed it). Any injuries or notable signs in the lower level comp?
