Another 'detailed' report from the Website: http://www.fremantlefc.com.au/news/2016-02-15/training-report-monday-15-february

Training Report: Friday 12 February

The Fremantle Dockers Monday training session had an emphasis on stoppage work, transitional football and goal kicking, following the teams full match simulation on Friday.

Aaron Sandilands and Zac Clarke battled during the stoppage drills, both consistently delivering the ball to the midfielders with precision.

The focus on stoppages meant that body contact and positioning were emphasised in both full ground and smaller drills.

Extensive running was on display as the team worked on transitional football, using the stoppage as a simulation of the run from half-back.

Michael Walters was prominent through the midfield and also made the most of his time in the forward line.

Matthew Pavlich marked strongly on the lead and impressed with his snap shots throughout training.

Griff and Langdon back with the main squad. Re hab group consisted of Neale,Johnson,Ballic,A Pearce and Apeness. No sign of Harley. A Pearce doesn't look far of rejoining the main squad and there didn't appear to be any problems with Lachie.
Easier day today . Half ground match sims and lots of goal kicking. Not much to report .

Yeah, not much to report so for those thinking that they would go hard today then back off on Wednesday, well it looks as though it will be the other way around.

There was a small group whom I called the "Also Rans" training at the markets end of the ground. That group included Tanner Smith, Josh De Luca and Shane Yarran. They were being supervised by Peel coach Cam Shepherd.

Ballas then spent 20 minutes on his own at the same end of the ground practicing his set shots. The poor bugger even had to retrive his own balls.

The whole rest of the squad, apart from the rehab group, then took part in the full ground drills and set shots on goal.

They just focussed on quick ball movement from the backline and stoppage drills.

It was a great session skill wise, but very low key. Standouts were Nat Fyfe (left the ground early), David Mundy, Son-Son and Hilly. Matt De Boer and Tendai Mzungu were also good.

The highlight today for me was the sausage roll and coffee from Abhi's.

I stayed on a little and watched part of the rehab group training whilst Harley Balic ran laps like Forest Gump. We had a chat with Brady Grey and I asked him about Ballard and he told us that Jacob will be playing with Richmond's VFL team? Brady lived with Jacob last year and are obviously still in touch.

As I left a Strength and Conditioning guy was putting Alex Pearce through some sort of testing with some close in ball work so as Alex handballs the ball back it is knocked away and he has to chase it down. This didn't go for too long and then Alex did about 5 or 6 Burpees exercises and then did some running around cones. I would say he is getting close to a return to the main list as that exercise is the pre-cursor to returning to the main list as we have seen with others.

Johno had both of his calf's taped at the top end of the calf muscle and below it on both legs and he didn't look to be moving too sprightly when they were doing straight line running. I don't expect we will see him playing on Friday.Good chance for the newbies Collins, Tucker; Ubergang (and possibly Smith) to show us what they can do in Johno's spot.

Lachie Neale was running in the Rehab group and he looked fantastic and I think he is only in Rehab as a precautionary matter but I personally think he will play on Friday but maybe not the full game as he is a competitive beast.

Apeness is looking better in regards his straight line running.

With Alex Pearce and hopefully Balic (his wrist scan is being scanned tomorrow) being passed for elevation up to main list we could have only Johnno, Bennell and Apeness in the rehab group which is a far cry from early in PS when we had 13-14 players in that list. A good result for the team and congrats to the S & C guys for their good management of the guys on rehab.

*fingers crossed* for Balic tomorrow. It must suck having to start his footy career spending so long in rehab. I really wanna see what this kid can do with a footy too.

Nice summary DTD. You've given the Reporting The House Down award a bloody good shake this summer. Much appreciated.

What's up with Lachies knee?
Lachie had a knee clash in the scratchie on Friday with another player and had to be carried off between 2 trainers and couldn't put any weight on his leg. We were assured by a very Senior member of the Club's administration that he will be right and that he will play on Friday. Well today he was in rehab and moved freely. I would say it is a precautionary step and IMO he will play on Friday.

Hurt it at the club on Friday night.

(clashed with Mayne during the intra club)
I thought in the video that it was Silvagni that got Lachie when they clashed knees. Mayne definitely clashed heads with Clancee as per training report of last Friday as they both went to ground beside each other).
