Training report: Friday 26 February

Stoppage work was emphasised at Freo training on Friday.

Following a cooler week of weather, the heat was back on as Fremantle hit the track for their last session before facing Adelaide in Mt Barker on Sunday.

In warm conditions, Freo training involved congested football, ball movement to the forwards and stoppage work.

Freo players worked in close quarters, with high pressure a factor in decision making with the ball.

Nick Suban was a constant presence in the back line, often hitting up the free man with a switch across the halfback.

Freo onballers and ruckmen practiced their stoppage structures ahead of facing a tough Adelaide midfield on Sunday.

Decision making when going forward was emphasised, with Matthew Pavlich and Nat Fyfe continuing to impress.

Hanging for a report from our faithful training watchers.....
The clubs report with pictures as pasted here in his thread Kenny_01 above sums up well overall today!s training session in what was a very light session. Only 1 Old Dude (I.e. this one ) was there at the start and part way through the Brothers Hugo and Bernard fronted.Salim didn't come up from Mandurah today. in the outer under the figs I couldn't see Sherrif Jedi mind tricks E She'd Fred Ziffel or Harry Reems and his binoculars. They knew it would be a light session so the lazy buggers stayed away so did Phil Carrello . An interesting visitor next to the Groundsman's area container shed was a Taxi so if you come and watch you don't have long to wait to hail a cab home. Uber's counterparts will have to attend training to cut that taxi out of business. We don't want someone shouting out TAAAXXII whilst Ubergang is try to take a mark and kick a goal.

Update Re Balic. Allikat salim malik

I spoke to Josh Deluca about HB2 and his wrist and he said that he had gone to Melbourne with Darcy Tucker on Wednesday to get a further opinion on his wrist as he is having problems with it healing properly. He had stayed on in Melbourne but will be back tomorrow. Hope Harley's wrist improves so we can get him on the park soon.

Might see him at the Mt Barker game if they take down the players who aren't listed to play.

Darcy is back and trained with the rehab crew with his problem knee bandaged.

Bennel's kicking today was sublime and he wore a long sleeve jumper probably to protect his new tattoo sleeve.

Fyfe took some good grabs today and he looks as if he is raring to go on Sunday to take on them Furken Crows.

See you all in Albany/ Mt Barker.

Thanks for the update! Not the best news re balic, but at least they're putting the effort into getting it looked at by the right people.

Have an excellent trip to Mt Barker!

Thanks Allikat for your best wishes for the trip. Interesting to note the club's approach to Harley and Darcy in regards their injury. Doctors to identify the injury and send the player to the best specialists in that area of the body to get a specialist opinion on the prognosis and to establish a treatment plan. In Chris Judd!s book he indicates that is how he wanted to have and did have his injuries treated when he was at Carleton.

Have a good weekend and watch out for the ball drop. .;);):D

Is this the first scratchie at Steel Blue against Swans ? Cam Shepherd was up on Ross!s balcont the other day and i am sure he was giving him a lesson on Freo Footy 101 and pissibly working out who he could use in the scratchie. Have a look on the Peel website about team for the scratchie. You not going to Mt Barker ? If you watch the scratchie can you please post a report on what transpired etc. Thanks. :D:cool:

Only if the Freo kids are playing. Watching the Peel reserves playing a scratchie in 38 degree heat doesn't really do it for me M.
Even the kids playing I think only smith, deluca, ryhuis and uebergang.

Pretty good collection of Snaps from the Freodockers snapchat story.
The boys training at a rec centre in Merredin, then Ethan Hughes, Balic and Collins driving to Bruce Rock featuring some amazing magic tricks from Collins ;)
