It's in WA so might be hard for him!

Like last year I'll be tweeting updates from the home games though.
Yeh I know, when he said he could get to two of them, I was hoping this would be one of them.

How is this for a radical idea?

Why don't the AFL play the U16 and U18 National carnivals across Summer? They could be primetime matches, nationally televised and develop a big audience (particularly is the cricket season is a boring one). Would then make the draft a much bigger event with more people aware of who is who etc...
Would help the AFL make the game a full year one and could be a good money spinner for the league.

Cricket have their national championships U15/U17/U19's in those summer months, so for talented kids involved in both (ala Alex Keath in the past) they couldn't play/train for both.

Having the champs in the middle of the season makes sense.

Two of the SA games (the ones being playing at footy park)

So with all this Academy (Sydney and GWS) talent that everyone is frothing over (have heard that 4-5 players are rated as top 20 talents in this year's draft pool), should NSW/ACT dominate Div 2 this year?

Who are these 4-5 players rated as top 20 talents? There are three touted as possibles (Hopper, Kennedy and Mills) but don't think anyone's suggested there is another prospect.

I don't think Mills has played yet this season - he's had shin splints - and there may be a chance he'll miss some or all of the U18 championships. Anyone know his prognosis?

We going to get any coverage (streaming or on fox footy) at all during the champs?

I'll be pretty much heading to all mid week games once they start though!

So I should be able to get to WA v SA for today. Grabbed the numbers from the afl site but apart from what's written on this forum I have no idea about any of the players and I've never tracked 44 players at once before. Will try and get some impressions from the game. Tips/advice more than welcome, pm me :D

watch out for Jarod Berry from Vic Counrty. A bottom ager. MVP under 16 champs last year. Team mate of Darcy Tucker at Rebels and home club Horsahm Saints. the kids a jet. like Tucker a great athelete but a little bit bigger.

He is very very impressive, I'll be keeping an eye out for him as he's outshone a couple of the bigger names at North Ballarat this year.
