That's like saying Sydney will slip because Goodes is retiring. Cox and Glass haven't been of any importance to them in 2 seasons and Lycett+McGovern look like terrific replacements.

Got to take transition period into account. The relative workload gets passed down the chain and there is more left to less-experienced hands. Remember, it means they have to improve the same amount as everyone else, and then gain 4-5 positions. Not likely.

my stab

pre-draft/trade

Sydney (squad too strong)
Port Adelaide (just going to get better)
North Melbourne (ditto esp with how theyre using FA pretty well)
Hawthorn (still competitive)
Fremantle (a few losses due to the ageing sandilands and pav)
Geelong (as above)
West Coast
Gold Coast

Richmond
Essendon
Collingwood
Brisbane
Bulldogs
Adelaide
Carlton
GWS
Melbourne
St. Kilda

Geelong

Freo will stay up there. Port to rise (if Ryder or someone similar comes like all the talk is suggesting, even without still see us rising.) Geelong the massive slider. I see them actually not making the 8 next year, but put them in purely on reputation alone as they will win some games they really don't deserve, just always find a way. Gold Coast will take that next step again next year.

Richmond
Carlton
Brisbane
Essendon
Collingwood
Melbourne
Bulldogs
Adelaide
GWS
St. Kilda

Adelaide/Collingwood to have shocking years. Beams gone, Danger gone, will cripple both teams. Both teams are a massive shambles on and off the field! Can easily see Richmond rising into the 8 for Geelong. Essendon to slide further, going to be another tough year for that club on and off the field as well.

Please post the article where this has have been officially stated like the one where Beams has gone on record.

Brisbane above Collingwood.

Likely.

Write us off at your own peril. Anyone in this thread who has the Dees finishing above us next year needs to take a long hard look at themselves (sorry Dees fans)

We looked really good for the first half of this year before the injuries and form loss of key players set in. I'd expect us to be around the mark next year, even with Beams leaving.

Shuey will become a top 10-15 player next year. If we get close to full years out of Nicnat, darling, kennedy, hurn, mackenzie, yeo, lecras and waters i think we'll go close to top 4 tbh. It's paying very good money atm too.

(im specifically putting this in this thread purely so i can quote it next year)

What on earth has Shuey the ****ing shoe shown that indicates he will have enormous improvement to the point he is better than 5-10 of Ablett, Buddy, Fyfe, Selwood, Kennedy, Watson, Pendlebury, Roughead, Hodge, Lewis, Boak, Gray, Sandilands, Dangerfield, Rockliff, N.Riewoldt, Heppell, Beams, Taylor and Johnson...

Unless you're joking and it went over my head, that is just laughable. Players who go missing in tough times in matches do not become top 10-15 players.

I will concede, however, that once you rule out Kennedy, NicNat, Priddis, Mackenzie, Hurn, Darling, LeCras - yeah he's top 10 at the Eagles.

I guess these are sort of Power Rankings but here goes anyway:

Port Adelaide
Sydney
Fremantle
Hawthorn
Essendon
North Melbourne
Geelong
Gold Coast
------------------------------------
Richmond
Adelaide
Western Bulldogs
Collingwood
West Coast

I'll reserve my judgement until you get yourselves a different fitness coach

1. Carlton - #17 of course! Mitchell to win Norm Smith. Please ignore if you are not a Blue :).
2. Sydney - will be very hard to beat again until the end of COLA and their great players start demanding fair pay (Buddy rates! Parker is worth $600+K a season at any other team, etc.)
3. Hawthorn - so much talent across the park but Mitchell and Hodge may fade in 2015 and they are still game winners
4. Port Adelaide - could win it on a good day, but they will need a lot of luck with a tougher draw
5. Fremantle - cannot see where they will improve?
6. Brisbane - Will improve again and Beams adds experience to a good list of kids
7. GC - assume Ablett OK all year plus natural development
8. Geelong - work in progress for a few years but so much talent they will not fade.

9. Richmond - it just seems right :)
10. Kanga's - key talent is getting too old (last hurrah was 2014)
11. Western Bulldogs - will keep improving
12. GWS - they are coming...
13. Adelaide - Dangerfield circus all year!
14. West Coast - Will be soft without Cox
15. Collingwood - if they lose Beams for #4 and steak knifes
16. Essendon - ASADA have to act next year???
17. Melbourne - young team need games
18. St Kilda - ditto, chasing draft picks like its 2000 again!
school holidays definitely upon us

so Gary Abblett is going to have a full year next year?
Not necessarily-he couldn't lift his arm the other night and it is quite some time since it happened. Looked pretty innocuous at the time and hope it doesn't turn into something more debilitating.

13: Adelaide
14: Western Bulldogs
15: West Coast
