2015 Ladder predictions

Why would it be any less even this year? I see it being more even as many of last years bottom sides in Melbourne, GWS, Brisbane, St. Kilda all improve.

You came close to losing to us too, only beat us by 3 points. The return game at the end of that year was also another close win.
Those bottom sides may improve but their wins are unlikely to come from against the top teams. It's the teams around the middle that will likely cop those losses.

But that's just my prediction and it's no more valid than anyone elses (except gillo94).
You should just be happy I've put your team in the 4 over the Swans and also have them beating my team ;)

Young players like Daniher rarely just double their output like that. They have hiccups and clubs spend more time focusing on them. I like Daniher but expecting him to kick around 50 goals this season is a bold claim. As is the claim about Carlisle, you take away those two games where he kicked 8 and 4 goals against a broken Maxwell and Roughead (who I don't rate much) and he kicked 2 goals or less. I think with more time in the forwardline and more experience, you can expect him to kick around 40 goals this year, ditto Daniher, which results in around a 25 goal increase, not your 40-50 goal increase.

The thing about that is you don't take away those goals do you? are you taking away Jack Riewoldts 11 and 6 against GWS and St Kilda? The fact he kicked those goals is proof of what he is capable of, if you watched those games you mentioned about Carlisle and in particular the one against Collingwood he got the ball all over the ground taking 19 marks and having 26 possessions, those games are not flukes.

Riewoldt has runs on the board and has actually kicked 50 goals in a season. I'm just saying that Jade should dial back his predictions a bit, I think Carlisle will kick around 40-45 goals this season which is an improvement.

Melbourne and Brisbane to fold in the next couple weeks? Bold prediction.

How are people still sure there are only 16 clubs in the AFL?

Nah, I forgot about West Coast, went back to edit and then forgot about readjusting the Dees and Lions. Sorry.
ASADA or just don't rate the list?

Good list & I rate Hird as a coach, if ASADA doesn't kill your season Hird is going to be hounded until doomsday by all and sundry which I think will have an extremely negative impact on the Bombers.

I agree, and looking back on the stats the two are quite an interesting comparison, Jack kicked 32 in his third season with 12 of them coming in 3 rounds, Jake kicked 27 in his third season with 12 coming from 2 games, Riewoldt then exploded in his fourth season kicking 78 goals and kicking at least 58 ever since.

Riewoldt was the only target that season though, Richmond spoon fed him deliveries. Riewoldt also kicked goals against some very good defenders that year. He kicked goals against guys like Jamison, Thompson from North, Lake and whoever Essendon was playing on Riewoldt when he kicked six (Hurley? Fletcher? Surely one of those two).

I'm just looking back at the 2009 game against Essendon where Riewoldt kicked 6 and Richmond won by five points, it's staggering Richmond won that game considering Pattison, Polo, Silvester, Hislop, McGuane and McMahon all played.

Essendon dished up rubbish every second week in 2009 and although scraped into the 8 were pretty average, dunno who played on Riewoldt that day, doubt it was Fletcher and Hurley was only in his first season, it was more than likely Tayte Pears.

I'd be disappointed (barring injury of course) if we didn't get a combined 90 goals out of these two in 2015.

Maybe - he's dealt with it pretty well so far though

1. Hawthorn

4. Sydney
5. Geelong
6. Adelaide
7. North Melbourne

11. Brisbane
12. West Coast
13. Collingwood

This allows for the fairytale Richmond finish of 9th, GC to upset Geelong at Simonds behind Gaz's best game ever in the first week of the finals and a ridiculously strong final four of Hawthorn, Port Adelaide, Fremantle and Sydney.

Don't think you'll get over 40 goals each for those two players next year

Also for St Kilda to fold due to their financial woes, to be replaced by another Melbourne?

Two Melbourne's and they still frustrate and disappoint me

Get screwed!

So you don't rate guys like Judd, Murphy, Daisy players who have been AA in the past, B&F's, Premierships and Brownlows?
Sure Daisy been injured few seadon but will get touch back

Gibbs star, unlucky didn't get AA but hopefully this year, Yarran had consistent year, another just fell short of AA. Think plenty talent with good young kids coming through who look like future stars

This Blues list a lot better that others in the comp. these things take time, need show faith in coaches and recruiters
I thought a poster's view, is just that, 1 man's opinion on pre season predictions? No need to answer it really?

From a club that is paying a 19 year old bloke 6 million over 7 years who has played just 9 senior games, I wouldn't be talking about the financial futures of other clubs.

Especially considering the Dogs are in the same boat financially.

Dogs are profiting. St Kilda made a multi-million dollar loss.

Wasn't a dig at the Saints anyway, was just poking fun at the list missing the Saints

Sigh. This is going to keep getting brought up again and again no matter what the discussion is, isn't it?

I guess we'll have to stop increasing our FD spending and forgo any more profits now that we are paying a new player money.

I wouldn't be talking at all if I was incapable of distinguishing between payments made within the salary cap and the off-field financial position of the club.

Oh, but both involve the dollar sign, so let's pour scorn on it anyway.
