But this league has been compared to higher leagues..... some of these teams would beat QAFA Teams... surely thats enough reason for players to get paid qafl fan? :)

They would Saints. No question about it. Still no reason for any players to be receiving match payments.

You could also argue quite successfully that this is one of the worst football leagues in the country !!

oh excuses we dont see any excuses on here by other teams who get smashed i would imagine the eagles thirds would have been highly embarrassed the other week after being belted by sandgate but no not a word from them let alone an excuse. Im thinking when the cats play the eagles what a game it will be,cats by 8 goals whats every body else think? Big Zeidler is a gun will add heaps to the zillmere team with his experience im not sure why the cats havnt chased him and pay him instead of big collihole

Apparently we don't see a lot of punctuation here either?

I'm not making excuses. Just giving a reason as to why the Cats lost by 200 points.

Yep I'll 3rd those comments supporting the Cats. Really feel for them, having to go out to Jimboomba and play their full strength side when they were well below par. Shame the same can't be said for Pine Rivers forfeiting the QAFA first grade game.

Hopefully the redbacks shouted those boys a few beers for having a dig and not quitting before the the ball was bounced.

Only 3 rounds but it will continue to be one of the more interesting comps this year. Not sure if a team like Coorparoo have to travel out the Jimboomba, the result could be 10 goal difference compared with them playing at their home ground on a friday night. The top 4-5 will still remain consistent and solid throughout the year but those next 3-4 teams will keep us on our toes.

If you keep an eye on clearances, Zillmere are building a very strong side all of a sudden. I know Kedron dusted them up in Round 2, but if all the names available to them get on the park they will be very hard to beat at the pointy end of the year.

Zillmere had at least 3 or 4 guns out and still managed to beat the Woodsmen. Hard to say who is missing from the Woodsmen, as some guys may have just retired altogether, as opposed to being 'missing. No sightings of Monaghan or R.McNaughton yet, Rozynski apparently signed a FIFO deal to play in Vic, no sighting of McDonel, Thommo only played once, Baker hasn't kicked any bags (is he playing in the middle again?).

If Sandgate have improved a bit, Woodsmen have come backwards a little - then we have a genuine 4 way tussle for the flag, probably 5 to be fair, as Redbacks are always a chance.

Thoughts on how UQ will fare against Jimboomba this weekend?

O

I think your on the money there. Zillmere are a very good side. Woodsman will be hard to beat. Sandgate kicking good scores. Kedron going to be up there. If the season plays out the way I think there's your top 4. I know no team has put there best side out yet. That's the nature of footy. I will say that when finals come the rotation policy of all clubs will go out the window. All players suddenly are 100% and no one wants to miss. Should some really good games in the home and away. The finals should be a cracker.

Those clearances keep on coming for Zillmere. Now have half the Swans GF side from last year on the books.

Going off on a tangent here, but having watched a lot of local footy here in Queensland, the way that this rule is currently umpired is a joke !!

http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl...ssue-facing-umps/story-e6frf3e3-1227324540885

AFL Laws have you seen it ??

Players leading with their heads is beyond a joke, and umpires continue to pay the high contact free kicks. This quote explains exactly how it should be umpired !!

“If you drive your head into a player there’s a rule that says that’s your prior opportunity so you must kick or handball, otherwise holding the ball."

Also, “If he has his head over the ball and he comes up and he ducks back down and the tackle is reasonable, therefore the force is not unreasonable let’s say, the umpires are instructed to call play on."

I hope AFLQ make a point about this particular rule to all of it's umpires.
