Gorringe is off to Carlton. Bit disappointed really, he could've been handy.
He'd be on their senior list though. That wouldn't work for us, and it's a pretty weird move for Carlton given that they already had Kreuzer and Wood and had just traded for Phillips as well.

Gorringe when given a crack can play in the forward line better than those. I think he will play as a KPF for them I guess.

Tough list management decisions are the easiest thing to whack the club over from a position of ignorance.

Don't envy those that actually have to make the tough, emotion-charged calls, rather than pot from the sidelines.

Because Brisbane is about all the Footy codes we can gain some insights from the best NRL coach Wayne Bennet. He got rid of the words best player at the time Wally Lewis, got rid go the best centre in Australia at the time Peter Jackson, the hardest hitting forward the legendary Trevor Gillmister, best hooker at the time Luke Prides and so on and on he cut players that seemed to have at least 2 good years left. They all seemingly were cut at the top of their careers from Brisbane. Bennet talks of creating a culture where the older players don't have the chance to question changes and create groups for and against change using their experience as a reason to have a view. Adcock was a champion, but for all the reasons discussed I think his time at the top where he could bring positive change was up.

He offloaded some decent talent at the start of this year too (I couldn't believe the list), and the Broncs were 1 point away from the trophy.

can note that all the guys he did let go achieved literally nothing at their other clubs....the man just knows, he has a gift

Hannant and Granville won said trophy with the Cowboys!
granville was let go by griffin before wayne came in. wayne would have loved to have kept him....he also left off his own accord for greater opportunity given he was clearly a first choice hooker player 10 minute cameos

hannant was sacked by the club, because he encouraged a younger player (rumour has it, it was corey oates) to test himself on the open market and not be afraid to leave

completely different situation to asking guys like hoffman, barba, garbutt, kennedy etc to leave

So much so, that all those teams are fighting over his signature.
I feel for the bloke, but at the moment, he appears to be the bottom of the barrel.

Spot on Skoob.
If it wasn't for the last game of the season he wouldn't even be getting a mention.

I'm hearing that Adcock is going to go to the Blues or the Dogs... Apparently has offers from both and just weighing them up - either way, heading to Victoria.
Grew up with Crameri . so be nice if he played with him at the Dogs.
Be hard for him to get a game there I though I think.

lol Griffin. Can't believe he's got another gig already.
The Broncos do have a fairly woeful record when it comes to letting talented players go without giving them a shot though. I'm particularly puzzled by the fact that they've let the best hooker in the QLD Cup go two years in a row now(both very similar players too).

You have to remember that the Broncos and the QLD cup are essentially a production line of talent. The Broncos can't have them all. As good as Granville and Parcell are, they don't overtake McCullough for mine, and Kodi Nikorima is a star in the making.

yeah griffin is a rubbish coach....probs hoping he steals some brisbane stars since they all love him

Parcell i wish we kept along with granville both more dynamic than mccolough buttt hes a more reliable option and more of a cam smith type of player.

its true we do let alot of players go, but how many promising players leave that we desperately want to keep who amount to nothing, couple of examples from a few years ago, craig frawley, gerard beale, steve michaels etc

mccolough is a different style of player to both, and i do think parcel and granville were better long term as the game speeds up, youre overrating nikorima.....sorry for hijacking the post btw

All good! I make no bones about being a big Nikorima fan. No doubt they are different types of player, but McCullough is the better all round player for mine (including his outstanding defensive work)

I would've thought Adcock would be a great addition to the bulldogs. Adds some much needed experience to their young line up even if it is only for a year or two.

Looking at Bastinac, he doesn't seem to have the body of a hardened inside mid or indeed a seasoned AFL player which you would think he should be after 5+ years in the system.

Thought the same thing watching his interviews, he does excel when playing as an inside mid so not much to worry about.
