What a crappy Brisbane defence. Fitzpatrick joins a long line of illustrious back-up rucks:
Paul Johnson, Wade Skipper, Adam Pattinson, Broc McCauley, Sam Grimley (drafted as a ruck), Luke Lowden, Tim Walsh, Luke McEntee, Thomas Willday, Michael Rix, Stephen Jurica, Doug Scott, Brett O'Farrell, Steven Rode, David Loats, Chris Gerryn, Travis Edmonds, Mark McLeod, Justin Crough, Simon Crawshay, Laurance Bingham, Robert Dutton, Stephen Allender, Craig Hoyer and Bernie Jones amongst others.

We've always struggled to get rucks draft picks right, it's probably why we have traded so many in with high picks such as Salmon, Rehn, Everritt and McEvoy.

Clearly rucks are not a concern but we just needed an adequate back up. Quite happy to have Jack at Box Hill.

Have had an inkling for a while we'd be quiet this year. Consolidate what we already have on the list. Watch how other clubs use future picks. Get a good look at the lie of the land for a real assault next year...

Don't forget they want to manage retirements 2 x 2 x 2

As is currently stands we have 4 live picks in the National draft after picking up Jack Fitzpatrick. That number of picks could all change of course if Simpkin and Whitecross both get traded out today which could still very much happen freeing up another two spots on the senior list.

The Tankers have smashed the draft and are swimming with picks. The only question is whether they can do anything with them.

Some might think that pick 94 was overs for Fitzpatrick but only time will tell I think its a win win for both clubs ,we get a player who im led to believe was a tremendous school age swimmer and with pick 94 they might even be able to get another Lachie Veale . Seriously though the best thing out of trade week for us was the huge bullet we dodged ,can't help but feel sorry for the saints whatever the authenticity of the clip puts a huge cloud over the guy's character ,honesty and integrity .

They don't want to directly give up pick 12 for Yarran. They trade it to us along with 19 for 15 and 18, get Yarran and still have 18 and 19 come draft night.
