I went out after the game Saturday and a number of the boys where at our restaurant having dinner. None where drinking and Charlie seemed very happy. He doesn't seem like a man about to leave the club. I think this could be a situation similar to Dustin Martin, where the club wouldn't budge and Dusty eventually agreed to stay for a lower price. I would expect Charlie to sign a 4 year deal somewhere in the worth of 2.5mil. (Remember the salary cap will increase in this period)
Interesting that nobody was drinking when the night after the game is basically the only time they're allowed to. Good discipline.

What's also interesting is that all of the same media flogs who said Alex Rance was 100% leaving Richmond are the same ones who claim the same about Charlie.

And claimed Cameron was going, and Sheil, and Patton.

Robbo and Caro are from the scatter gun school of journalism, take enough shots and at some point one must hit the target

I can't wait to see them when Charlie signs up, I can hear it now

"though the superior offers of other clubs were very inviting Dixon decided to back out of that the age understands was an agreement with Brisbane to sign on once again with the Suns" "the age also understands that Ablett has renewed talks with Geelong to end his career back at the cattery, sources close to him stated he couldn't wait to return to his spiritual home"

Seriously. I'd love to have both Kolodjashnijs at the Suns next year, so I'd love for that deal to happen!

Caro lost literally all credibility when she published Hird being sacked. Total flog. Her articles aren't worth the paper they're written on.

Well as I said , if a deal of ZacS for JK was offered , the club would have to take it. I really like the kid too.

Mmm , I guess there will be a fair bit of movement at years end.

It looks that way at the moment, if we start winning which is a real possibility with the calibre of players we have coming back in to the team, Ablett and Swallow this week, Bennell and Thompson next and then Martin the week after. A string of wins could see many guys currently on the edge come back into the fold.

Jaeger O'Meara talks about how he loves the club and has loved what rocket has done to the club.
Won't go anywhere.

From http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-12-04/ryan-griffen-on-bulldogs-captaincy "I think my style is going to be caring for my teammates. I love this club dearly, so it's all about the players underneath me and making sure they feel comfortable in their environment, and that they're playing good footy." - Ryan Griffen (Less than 12 months before he quit the club).

I used to believe (naively) that every word they spoke was true, not anymore. Not saying he isn't staying but don't take every word they say as gospel.

I'm not comfortable with the ongoing tag of 'Grog Squad' etc for our players. Trying to do our best to avoid the label of alcoholics and druggies - Putting them into a category like that for one small indiscretion is not fair
We need to decide which members of the Grog Squad we keep. Dixon is really the only one showing anything at the moment. The rest could be used to score a sweet deal at the trade table.

So we know the Suns have already offered a long-term contract to Dixon.

We know Charlie does not want to leave the club.

We are simply in the negotiation stage until both parties are happy with the deal.

And most importantly, which the media seem to ignore, both parties want the same outcome.

I am convinced Dixon will stay a Sun for life.

This is a very good point

Trade / Delist over the next 2 years - Smith, Sumner, Harbrow, Russell, Shaw, Stanley, Gorringe, McKenzie, Raines (R), Broughton (R), J.Hall, Herbert (R), Ellis (R), Tape, Downie.

Questions marks - Schade, Cameron, Lemmens, Lonergan, Brooksby, Sexton, Glenn (R), Boston.

Our list is poor.
Wow why

Sorry for the intrusion, guys, but I was just wondering what you think Lonergan would be worth?

Coming out of contract, inconsistent, strong midfield depth means his position isn't gauranteed.

I believe he would be the perfect addition to our midfield as that big bodied contested player. I'd say a second rounder would be adequate, but we also have Todd Elton who is a utility type playing in the VFL who can play KPF, KPD and pinch hit in the ruck. Strong contested mark, mobile and still young (21). Would a straight swap be something you guys might possibly entertain?

We don't have strong midfield depth though.

We don't have strong midfield depth though.

I just mean in his position. Wrong terminology. Was supposed to say competition for spots, when you have a full list of course.

So, a second rounder for Lonergan. Thoughts?
