2015 is looking like it will be one of the most even seasons in a long time, and all the cellar dwellars are likely to be better than they were in 2014.

IMO there are 6 teams who are contenders for the spoon.

It's hard for me to go past St Kilda (bold prediction, I know :$) but then there's the Essendon situation and if ASADA smash them then the Bombers have the spoon sewn up.

Who do you think will win the wooden spoon this season, and why?

Hard to go past the Saints imo. However when it comes to being shit, never write off Melbourne

Carlton should be a few positions above that but maybe in a few years

Bulldogs a chance but unlikely. May be bottom 4 though

I think GWS will improve and finish around 10-12 personally

Essendon are no chance unless of course you are referring to player bans. If not they are a big chance to make the 8

You never know when a team falls. Wouldn't be surprised if Collingwood, West Coast, or Adelaide fell a few more rungs

All those teams have plenty of talent and most importantly improvement in them, it wouldn't surprise to see all three of them contest for a finals spot. I'd back the reverse outcome.

Every team has that before the season starts.

True - an extended injury run to key players will cripple any team, for instance - but it is far more likely that St Kilda will get the wooden spoon this year compared to Hawthorn, for example. I just don't think that those three sides will be in the mix for a spoon this year based on what I've seen in 2014 and the off-season.

Sure. To be fair those three teams were just three of what I considered more 'vulnerable' than the rest, but my point stands, just like an unexpected rise from the bottom unexpected falls can happen.

Happened to Melbourne in 2007 (who, at the end of 2006 were touted to be the only Victorian team capable of ending the interstate dominance of the 2000's) West Coast, and Port in 2008 (granted the Eagles had lost their two best players the year before but a fall from grace of 3-15 was not really forseen) and Brisbane in 2010.

It just happens, people don't expect it and it never really makes sense until hindsight.

Hopefully Essendon. But I think Collingwood's going to be the surprise package down the bottom of the ladder. It's hard to notice how bad they are given how delusional their supporters are, and they haven't improved their list over the off-season.
