This is a thread for everybody who's interested, it is a thread for anything related to the 2016 fixture. I'll be doing one in the coming weeks, so to get the ball rolling i'll start us of with round 1.

The whole hawks cats Monday game is past its used by date. Hawks will spank the cats for the next couple a years.

You can lock in about 3 of the games (RICH v CARL) (DOGS V PIES) (HAWKS V CATS)

Also.
The teams playing at home in this round 1 (all the interstate sides at least) will play away so you can lock in those details, you probably don't start (as an interstate) team your season at home 2 years in a row.

I'd definitely put Richmond/Carlton on ice for a few years.

Collingwood will be up-and-about after being active in trade week, versus Bulldogs has a lot of neutral appeal. Play it at the 'G'.

Adelaide's been great to watch this year. Put them up against West Coast as a throwback to the state of origin days.

I also like North against Hawthorn. Almost had this as a matchup in the GF.

Port will be at home to open the season this year. We haven't had a round 1 fixture at Adelaide Oval in the last two years and I doubt it will be a Showdown either. IMO Adelaide will cop a Perth trip round 1 like we did this year.

Things to consider
-GWS would like an annual twilight anzac match at Manuka Oval
-Fremantle celebrate their len hall game with a Friday or Saturday night match at Home (since 2012 under the new system)
-Melbourne and Richmond have requested to make an Anzac day eve fixture annual (at least while they can have it on a weekend)
-Port Adelaide and Hawthorn having a massive crowd for the ANZAC fixture last year have requested an annual fixture also.

So long as Richmond v Carlton keeps drawing 70-80K, the AFL will keep it as the opening game.
