I know the expectation of Carlton is not high, but it's still a big call for the AFL to send a 'Big Four' side down there.
Why?

Last couple of Carlton vs Hawthorn and Geelong games have been absolutely putrid in terms of attendance and output.

The Dogs and Lions always get flogged down there, time for someone else to cop that treatment imo.

lowest of the "big 4" should be sent to Tas each year
And Geelong

Richmond always used to cop Geelong games, but Collingwood, Essendon and Carlton have escaped that for years.

Bit over North, Dogs, Saints and Dees going down there every year these days.

Melbourne never going there is a farce considering how poor they've been over the last 10 years.

Must be some MCC agreement or something

St Kildas only been once also.

Because they are going to at least 30K even if they are languishing on the ladder.

Hawks Dogs should easily get 45-55k currently at the G on a Friday night/Saturday arvo/Saturday night and about 40 at Etihad for etc instead...... It would probably be one of the Lions bigger home crowds of the year if played up there which it will be next year.

30k is absolutely paltry considering the two teams who are playing with their "fanbase", only got 26k at Etihad this season, might as well sell out Launceston

I agree, but the AFL hasn't been brave enough to pull that trigger for a long time.

I assume it's because we play home games in NT so we don't get sent to play away in Tassie. The only reason I can think. Also we often play Hawthorn as the home team and it's one of their members replacement games for the Tassie deal.

Apparantly Richmond are the only top 8 side Essendon will play twice this year. Also playing Melbourne at Etihad and Fremantle in Melbourne for the first time in years
Got the first one spot on, other two not correct though
