49ers select......Nick Vigil - ILB - Utah State

The 49ers once had one of the most fearsome inside linebacking duos of Bowman and Willis. When Willis retired, they thought they'd found his replacement in Chris Borland. And then he retired as well. The niners need some one to step into the position next to Bowman and they'll be hoping Vigil is their guy. Aggressive going forward and plays fast, which is what Chip Kelly looks for in his linebackers. Vigil has solid speed that allows him to cover sideline to sideline. He does get caught up in some of the traffic in front of him, and also struggles to get off blocks, but this is mainly due to his relative lack of size and power in his upper body.

drd23 and the ravens back on the clock once again.

With the 134th pick, the Baltimore Ravens select KeiVarae Russell, CB, Notre Dame

Russell had an interesting time during his period in South Bend, having been a top RB recruit out of HS before moving to CB prior to starting college, starting all 13 games as a freshman, missing 2014 due to "academic dishonesty" and then playing 2015 with a stress reaction in his tibia before breaking it in November.

Russell is adequately sized to play boundary CB in the NFL at 5'11", 196lbs with 31 5/8" arms and showed some impressive athleticism at the Notre Dame Pro Day (4.43 40yd time; 6.89 3 cone drill; 38.5" vertical; 11-2 broad jump) while still recovering from that broken leg.

During the nearly 2 years of playing time Russell had at ND he was regularly asked to cover the #1 WR for the opposition and showed a good ability to mirror and fluid hips to be able to turn and run with WRs where required.

Possibly a 3rd round CB according to Mike Mayock due to his size and athleticism, he would be a great pick to bolster a secondary that showed last year it badly needed depth.

Pick 138 Cleveland Browns - Cardale Jones (6'5" 253lbs) QB from Ohio State

The Browns have a lot of holes, but only one of them really matters. So lets just keep picking up QBs until we get it right. A room full of Wentz, RG3 and Cardale would at least be interesting, give the crowd someone new to chant for each week.

Jets select Fahn Cooper, OT, Ole Miss

The Jets double-down on offensive tackles in this draft class, in recognition that the incumbent starters D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Breno Giacomini are nearing the end of the line as Jets players. It's unlikely that Cooper will end up as a starting NFL lineman for the Jets, given his warts as a pass blocker, but at least he'll be able to step in for Giacomini from time to time as the Jets look to ramp up their running game with Forte, Powell and Khiry Robinson in the backfield.

Cooper originally commenced his college career at Bowling Green, starting as a redshirt freshman as a left tackle, but Cooper wanted to play for a major program. Accordingly, he transferred to the College of DuPage to catch recruiters' eyes and he suited up for Ole Miss as a starter in 2014. Cooper started 11 games for Ole Miss at right tackle and two games at left tackle. He filled in for suspended teammate Laremy Tunsil at left tackle for seven games in 2015, before moving back to the right side of the line when Tunsil returned to the lineup.

Cooper loves the physical challenge and won't back down. He has the length (at 6'4", 303lb) to land an early punch on pass rushers and the hands (at 10") to snatch and ride a second level linebacker if he gets into them squarely. He was praised by his head coach for his on-field and off-field leadership and was an every-day starter for Ole Miss for two seasons.

Cooper profiles as a much better run blocker than a pass blocker, as he is a little laboured in passing sets and possesses below average athletic traits. His tape suggests that he is sluggish with his change of direction and pass rushers can get a strong initial push on him from time to time.
