Didn't your mother ever teach you that two wrongs don't make a right.
I would suspect that there would be a lot that Kew is not proud of from the weekend.
Yes she did, and as I said, I don't condone spitting. I am not from Kew, so I can't speak for how they are feeling, but sadly have seen posts from those connected with BT trying to shift blame and make excuses for what were clearly unacceptable actions by one person. Uglydermie is the only one connected with the club who posts here who has shown concern for the players injured.

I would like to extend my sympathies to Kew players injured from Saturday. Both clubs need to investigate their actions. It's wrong to suggest that Kew are entirely innocent. The tribunal/investigation my surprise a few people who saw the incidents with rose coloured glasses.

Ormond had no problems with the Kew players, some good fellas , it was the spectators who were a disgrace.
Sorry, when I say Kew, I am talking about the club as a whole.
The Kew players are fantastic and did really well not to escalate things on the weekend.
It's the coaching staff and spectators I am referring to.

Agreed. Both clubs need to have a good hard look at themselves. And let's just hope the player in question gets a massive whack as we don't need that type playing in our great comp.

The only body to show any leadership in all this is Ormond as I hear the Pres has liaised with Kew and has asked the Ormond club members not to use social media to discuss the issue. This is the style of leadership that sets the tone at a club and helps prevents players and spectators doing stupid things.

Shame you aren't an Ormond man then!

Canada I have a soft spot for them for a number of reasons but Ormond have nearly always had good leaders and the current President has shown you and other clubs how to act. Bedford warned all of you weeks ago!!

And.. it is not about giving this bloke a big suspension, that is a just the beginning, the club need to be sanctioned and educated because they allowed it to go on for some weeks. Who knows he may have grown in bravado as he was not getting pulled up and this time went way over the top.
Same as Kew supporters need to be pulled up by the good leaders ( if any) at the club.
It will be interesting to see how the VAFA handle the recommendations from the investigation, would they have the courage to suspend both clubs ? Nope

As I said, it's a pity you aren't from Ormond, then you wouldn't be commenting here.
I have a right to post here if I want and it's about time you blokes realised that you are all susceptible to bad behaviour and most of you would not no how to prevent it. Ormond would. Good leadership prevails.

Massive whack by the tribunal when he's rumoured to be retiring anyway will mean little. However, a pair of grievous bodily harm charges might just do the trick. Regardless of the many versions about the lead up, our society does not condone this behaviour. Does anyone know how the two players are faring?

First and foremost, best wishes to the players who have been injured for a speedy recovery. In relation to the incident(s) I can't comment as I wasn't there.

What I would like to see/hear is the VAFA and BTAFC make a public statement on the matter - it's now almost 2 days later and I'm yet to see anything of note. Something simply along the lines of acknowledging the incident(s) took place, if a player(s) has been reported then saying so and if an investigation has been launched then the process from here so everyone knows. Even if the police are investigating they can still say something rather than be silent.

Someone from the VAFA or BTAFC showing some leadership on such a matter would be greatly appreciated by all in the VAFA community regardless of the outcome of a tribunal or investigation. A simple statement in the weekend match news report of "The match was called off partway through the fourth quarter when a melee broke out between the two sides" doesn't quite cut it.

Do these outs open the door for Old Geelong? To have these incidents is a real shame and the timing for Kew is terrible
If the VAFA really care the "outs" you refer to should equate to the whole club being banished for this year. That would certainly open the door for the Oggs.
It takes 2 to tango and whilst one of the blokes may have started it the behaviour of the Kew followers highlights the way in which they have been for a while and this gives the VAFA an opportunity to sanction the clubs and to warn other clubs..but will they do it - probably not..

Don't hold your breath. Is the investigation into the calling off of the Elsternwick/St Johns game finished yet?

Think our Mod is away at the moment Les. Hasn't logged on since August the 3rd. So we've apparently inherited an interventionist as replacement. Had a post of mine - unrelated to this topic - removed for no good reason at the request of a former poster - read bully-boy. No explanation. Just vanished! Reckon we deserve an explanation when a post is removed.

There are 3 mods for the Vic Metro boards. I deleted some this morning and was in a rush so no reason was given. I will endeavor to do this from now on and there should be a notification.

Please guys, no names until before tribunal appearance.

Thanks! I understand why the decisions need to be arbitrary with no discussion. However, it's handy to know the reason why a post is removed without sanction for future reference. I'm still quite puzzled still why mine - which was unrelated to this matter - was deleted.

Think we've been spoiled here as OTP likes to see conversations flow and if things start to go askew he usually intercedes with a posted warning. Come back OTP.:)

Let's hope the retirement is more than a rumour.
