^^^ I hope this means players chicken winging legitimate tackles by lifting the arm to turn them into high tackles will be stamped out.

Won't hold my breath, though
Watching the GF I had a f***wit Hawks supporter sitting behind me applauding every time a dog's player dropped at the knees and drew a free kick- absolutely infuriating and I hope that they stamp it out

I wouldn't hold my breath for a non ****wit dawks supporter

Seems unlikely. Just more shit for umps to get confused by

Nothing on throws, so at least the Dogs can continue with their "slick" handballs, that's the main thing right?

Apologies in advance for bringing it up again, I had to get one last umpiring whinge in before Christmas...

Still plenty of time left

Think I'm actually done whinging, more or less. My new year's resolution for 2017 is not to bring it up again

Yep it really frustrating to see nothing done to stop the plague of 'dropping the ball' on the game and the Dwoggies Fairytale Gridiron tactics.

But they'll be hurt by the rule changes around 3rd man up (as will the cats in particular), so not a bad result that way I guess.

I'm happy with the end to the 3rd man up - will give teams a bit more advantage when they have the better ruckmen in the game. The ruck duel is a unique part of the sport, and something that was being diluted a bit by 3rd man up round the ground.

My 2017 resolution is simple - keep whining about umpiring whenever necessary, but do my bit to make sure its the boys in red and white on that podium come the end of the 2017 season :)

I reckon Naismith and Tippo will be formidable protected from team defence ruck contests. Here's hoping anyway

GREATER Western Sydney has been fined $100,000 and 1000 draft points for the actions of two club officials, Graeme Allan and Craig Lambert, and its player Lachie Whitfield, that saw the club charged with conduct unbecoming.
So the equivalent of a draft pick #15

To me that seems fair... ish.

Will make academy bidding very interesting this year as they have a couple of red hot prospects. I have a feeling they'll go massively into draft debt this year. They'll scoop the pool out of the Riverina this year in the knowledge that they will probably have very little or no access the following year - when being it debt carries no real threat.
