At any rate, we offered Menegola another year, but he had also had an rookie offer from Freo to be picked up and declined ours to go back home [technically he was delisted from us as a result of declining our offer]. From memory he was pretty much injured the whole season he was with us.

Gws give pick 8 and 12 and cam macarthy to freo give up the pick 3 which gws dont need 6 first rounds gets them up to 3 sounds overs but they need to trim 8 off there list and with 6 first rounders aint gonna work so hawks get pick 8 or 12 os freo thats our first rounder win win ****en win

I think we should start implementing a 1 day ban, for anyone that suggests we will trade Bruest.

We will not trade Bruest because:

• It makes absolutely no sense to trade our only player that is 25 or under that has a AA Guernsey,
• he is one of that absolute elite small forwards in the competition,
• it has never ever been mentioned in the press or by the club,
• Clarko is as loyal as they come to players that have performed for him, particularly Premiership players
• Bruest fits our game plan to an absolute tee,
• We are much more likely to trade a player that has shown potential, but not reached the elite level yet (and may never) ala Sciliy.

I don't know how any Hawk supporter, on the eve of another finals campaign, can talk about trading Bruest. He is likely to pop up and kick a bag in one of the finals, and help us to our fourth in a row.

Thoughts on this guys. Freo haven't resigned Barlow which leads me to believe they'll move him and some others on to get picks for Hill and McCarthy and GC want players so this could IMO work out good for us.

GC trade - pick 21 + 26 to Freo
Freo trade - Pick 21 to Hawks
Hawks trade - B Hill to Freo

I think you are close with this, but...
I rate TOB and think the Hawks do to so I don't think he will be in the mix. The player I think that we will be sending direct to the GC will be Whitey. Out of all the scenarios that have been presented this is the one that seems to make the most sense. Whitey is from Queensland, is a nature boy and loves getting out of the big smoke and is the sort of player the GC could really use as a mentor to some of their younger kids. I really like whitey but I think this is the player we will lose to get JOM over the line.

KB is very young, we have put a lot of time into getting him afl standard. Rance or not, Id like to keep KB, he has a future.

Gibbo is now a real liability in his 1v1s, clubs know this and he gets isolated. There was once a time where Gibbo was rarely beaten, that's not the case now, he needs to be released as 3rd man up and floating role he plays so well.

I like the thoughts of a trade with Freo and GCS to get Hill and O'Meara to where hey want to be, but I think both teams will want to really hit the draft hard this year - Freo with multiple earlyish picks, GC with picks in the top 5. Something like:

Freo out - 3 Barlow 2017-2nd
Freo in - Hill 8 21

Hawks out - Hill 18
Hawks in - Jom

GC out - JOM 8 21
GC in - Barlow 3 18 freo 2017 2nd

Gives Freo hill and 2 early picks.
Gives GCS picks 3,4,6
Gives us JOM!
