Do not want Rockliff would rather invest in the Barrett kid and hope he becomes another cog in the machine at Hawthorn rather then spend hundreds of thousands on "Hodge's mate"

Out of spite, we should offer Bartel a cheap contract to replace Mitchell. At least we will get someone with experience and annoy handbaggers at the same time.

or he could be a massive twat on way to much cash who is toxic for a club's culture any nobody wants which is why pick 34 would get Brisbane to let their captain go
clarko would obviously give the tick off....and apparently he is flying over to qland.
we must trust the process and clarko

Lots of reasons Clarko could be flying to QLD other than to try to come home with Rocky.

I'm not saying the club wouldn't entertain him, hell they made a play for Carlisle who isn't the cleanest skin in the game by far.

I'm saying why are posters on here suddenly frothing about a bloke who by all accounts isn't wanted at the club he captains, likes to have public conversations on twitter about breaking droughts and rating chicks and is known to like going 80s style during the regular season. It's a pretty big amount of baggage before you get to his contract. Yeah he's got some talent but there are other options out there

im not suddenly frothing him, i have always had an interest in him joining the club.
Im just hoping we still bring in some more players more than anything

Fatty Rockliff could do with a scenery change. A full preseason and a Kokoda tour could do wonders
If he wants to take a massive pay cut, be a smaller fish in a bigger pond, clean up his off field shit and stay away from twitter then we can talk. I guess Kokoda doesn't have great mobile phone coverage at least

I'd rather take the punt on Barrett for a cheapie than Rocky

why can't we have both? :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Just on O'meara...

Should GC continue to play crazy hard-ball and he goes to the draft; does that make him free game for any club that wants him or is there a rule that says only clubs that nominate to take him or something similar?

I really have no idea how that sort of thing works

If JOM goes to the draft he becomes fair game. He can put a price on his head to scare off potential suiters but he'd have to last until (now) pick 10 for us to grab him.
He can't put a price on his head in the ND though only the PSD. So really any team could pick him up for the base rate for their first round pick i'm pretty sure. Can someone confirm this?

Pick #10 to GWS

Picks #15 & #31 or #37 + Barrett to us

Then #15 + who knows for JOM possibly?

I'm dearly hoping we're planning on downgrading our pick 10 as you say. If we send that off, we've just spent a bunch of first round picks for a whole lot of not much, when we could have spent players.

TRADE:
Give:

Hawks: 10, Hartung and Sicily
GC: O'Meara
Lions: Hanley 19/21

Get:
Hawks: O'Meara and 19/21
Lions: Hartung and 10
GC: Sicily and Hanley

Lewis Out:
Hawks: Lewis and 57
Melb: 2017 second and 2016 3rd

We could possibly get Rockliff for seriously cheap if we can somehow get Pick 29 from Melbourne for Lewis. They reportedly only wanted a top 25 pick for him with no one interested, which is way unders for a player of his caliber. Perfect Lewis replacement.

Pick 29 + Hartung --> Rockcliff

So effectively, at the end of trade period:

• Sam Mitchell (34) --> Tom Mitchell (23)
• Jordan Lewis (30) --> Tom Rockcliff (26)
• Bradley Hill (23) --> Jaegar O'Meara (22)
• Billy Hartung (21) --> Lovell (20)/O'Rourke (21)

Is this possible? I would take this. At least will reduce the pain of loosing SAM.
