I received an email expressing condolences on my mum's death from the club and confirming that she was indeed the oldest overseas member of the Western Bulldogs Football Club at the age of 90. What a wonderful message to receive from the club. Proud to be a Bulldog!

Sorry to hear about your mum, but must be fulfilling to know how much you really helped your parents out when they needed it the most. Although I'm a Jays fan, if another team wins it I really hope it's the Cubs! The first stadium I visited was Wrigley field to watch Cubs host the Astros in 2013, they lost 10-1 as they basically sucked but at least things have really turned around! Became accustomed to the story of the goat curse, this year is possibly the best chance yet of ending it. Hopefully it happens before coming home :)

You wouldn't think that there would be too many more people signing up for memberships at this time of the season. 38,753 is a great number though and is a great increase on last year's figure. Play finals this year and hopefully win one or two (or more :p) and we will crack the 40k in 2017

As long as we finish ahead of St Kilda and Melbourne, I'd be happy. Hopefully we'll get 39K and set a great platform for 2017.

Gee, 2017 will be massive for us in terms of internal and external expectations on and off field.

What's more important in the grand scheme of things..
Finishing with more members than rivals (Melbourne, saints, North etc) or achieving a raw figure, regardless of where that places us on a membership ladder?

I see an argument for both.
I'm guessing those at the club wouldn't be looking at the other clubs, just looking at our own figure.

A final thank you to all of you for the messages of support. I placed the Bulldogs pin mum received as a new member last year in her coffin with a few other personal items, my favourite being a pic of the two of us at Wrigley Field ten years ago to see the Cubs. It was her first and only trip there.

Mum was buried next to my dad on a beautiful sunny summer afternoon on Tuesday where they are now resting together forever.
