I think Sandi will retire this season , or doing part time ruck transition to younger ruck/forward player next season. Depend whether we can get this year flag. Really hope apeness come out well with his ruck/forward in WAFL.
Well considering Aaron's best mate is now coaching Mt Barker and the big man himself is pretty keen on the idea it isn't as far fetched as you may think but time will tell end of the season.

I'm glad we left Luenburger alone, he has not trained, Achilles problems. Will be an interesting year between Sandi, Clarke and griff. Agree Sandi will probably play on, will go down as one the best all time rucks.

if he play on this will impact on clarke (free agent) decision to stay on. Bare any injuries Sandi definitely can play another season or half a season but sooner or later we will had to do without him.sorry Salim ,last year duffman,macca

It was interesting to hear Lyn say yesterday as well that he saw Apeness more of a ruck than can play forward than a forward than can play ruck. So I guess that kind of gives us a bit more depth if we do lose Clarke

Adam Marcon being talked up in the news as lining up to tag Fyfe or Mundy on Friday. Good luck to him as a rookie getting a go (Barlow style). However, at 180cm he's probably going to have a tough first outing.

Hahaha - I was going to post the same. Richmond's kids will be going hell for leather and we will be just rotating the players through in many different positions. We might win by 60 but there will still be a melt done that we should have won by a hundred because of the weak opposition and statements that the season is over. Very funny - Freo will never star in a preseason series with Ross as coach.

Clarke has stayed this long , can't see him leaving unless he gets massive offer else where plus he my bud. Got at least another six seasons ahead of him so Sandi one more year probably don't matter much.

I think at end last season they probably thought were a good chance on a forward in trade week, didn't eventuate. Appness IMO has shown not much as forward but played a lot ruck as a junior, so with griff, Clarke, Sandi, and big Jack time was on Freo side so in two seasons probably Clarke, Appness, Hannath and still maybe griff.
Sandi will play for Freo in 2018.

Haven't read it, but I suspect that's just lazy journalism.
Marcon is an inside mid, so the journo probably picked up he'd be playing on Fyfe/Mundy, as in playing the same spot, and took it to mean tagging. From memory, there isn't usually a lot of tagging going on in the pre season, but who knows, maybe we're trying to teach him a new skill.
The other to look out for in in this regard would be Townsend...Again, an inside mid, rather than a tagger but loves to lay a tackle, so it could look 'tag-like' at times.
Both would be looking to impress (Marcon to get promoted off the rookie list, Townsend to make the rnd 1 team), so I wouldn't be surprised to see a few solid tackles laid.

Will be interesting to see how Ross sets up the back line. Probably won't see it this game but we should at least see it in the WC game.
