That comes as a big surprise. Really doesn't look as though he has that explosive speed that that time suggests.
Neither of them are overly fast (going by the combine times), I can't find the full list but the top ten ends at 2.95. I'm not sure how they do the sprint at the combine. But if its a one chance only thing I guess its possible Florent didn't have a good run or something.

Pace is more than straight line speed, Florent has elite agility, when you combine the two, he is definitely fast on the field.

Agree completely. Particularly as height would play a big part in the 20m sprint. Louge ran a 3.03 but personally I those who think he can turn into a midfielder are dreaming.

I was stunned when looking back at his time from the combine, like I said in a post before I thought running was a real weakness of his. But his 20m and time trial times were quite good.

Averaged around 17 touches a game as a forward for 3/4 of the year, regularly got up around 30 when moved midfield, moved midfield following death of his terminally ill father.
Thanks for the reply mate. So he can find plenty of the ball. I hope we get him then

I just re-watched the last quarter of the TAC Cup GF and I'm convinced Florent is our guy. He was everywhere and barely missed a target.
Yep that run early in the 4th was great. Ran through 3 of them and got the handball out.

Yep, I saw that and went WOW. We don't have a player on our list with that type of burst speed and quick thinking.
At one stage, he took on Will Brodie and got past him also.

He was excellent in the all star match too.

I want Brodie to slide but Florent will still make me very happy. He seems like a kid that doesn't rest on his laurels and that he actually got better when his father passed away suggests to me a very hard worker.

Don't know why anyone wants William Drew but not Clarke. Clarke is a better runner, contested footballer and link up player yet whenever his name is mentioned around here it gets shot down.

I have them pretty close together, in the mock I've done I've got Drew going to the Dogs at their second pick and Clarke going a couple picks later to PA. If i had the chance to pick either one for our side, would go Clarke 100%. Only glaring weakness Clarke has is his ball use, but that can be fixed up.
