Today's Herald Sun mock is the first I've seen to have us taking Simpkin, with Florent sliding to the bombres.

He ran a 3.01 20 in comparison to Florent 3.02personally, I wouldnt say he has good pace.

We need a McKenzie replacement.I don't fully understand why we would bid on Perryman. I get he has class, but we already have problems wth leg speed and he lacks it.
Neither of them are overly fast (going by the combine times), I can't find the full list but the top ten ends at 2.95. I'm not sure how they do the sprint at the combine. But if its a one chance only thing I guess its possible Florent didn't have a good run or something. That comes as a big surprise. Really doesn't look as though he has that explosive speed that that time suggests.

Hey pykiePace is more than straight line speed, Florent has elite agility, when you combine the two, he is definitely fast on the field.
Agree completely. Particularly as height would play a big part in the 20m sprint. Louge ran a 3.03 but personally I those who think he can turn into a midfielder are dreaming.Pace is more than straight line speed, Florent has elite agility, when you combine the two, he is definitely fast on the field.

Thanks for the reply mate. So he can find plenty of the ball. I hope we get him thenAveraged around 17 touches a game as a forward for 3/4 of the year, regularly got up around 30 when moved midfield, moved midfield following death of his terminally ill father.
Yep that run early in the 4th was great. Ran through 3 of them and got the handball out.I just re-watched the last quarter of the TAC Cup GF and I'm convinced Florent is our guy. He was everywhere and barely missed a target.
Yep, I saw that and went WOW. We don't have a player on our list with that type of burst speed and quick thinking.Yep that run early in the 4th was great. Ran through 3 of them and got the handball out.
At one stage, he took on Will Brodie and got past him also.Yep, I saw that and went WOW. We don't have a player on our list with that type of burst speed and quick thinking.

DittoFlorent, Drew and Rotham for me.
Don't know why anyone wants William Drew but not Clarke. Clarke is a better runner, contested footballer and link up player yet whenever his name is mentioned around here it gets shot down.
