From a Collingwood point of view I don't think we have the chips to be in the game so I am surprised that we are, however this is possibly a ploy from Rockys management to up his value and get some leverage back - as really we are probably the last club Brisbane wants to lose Rockliff to.

I wouldnt mind seeing us be fairly bold with our second rounders. Not that this is overly bold but picks 21 and 30 for the giants 15. Trade pearce to gold coast for pick 8. Ends up being 2, 8, 15 and 19. 4 picks inside the top 19 would be awesome.

I take it his bad influences and stuff like that would be the case. Which is fare enough. I like that too. But that could be a double edged sword.

Agree talent on paper could be misleading. Just think someone with rockliffs class on field is what collingwood lack.

to simplify things, if it could be any draft pick, any club, in your mind what is the lowest pick you would accept for Rockliff before it becomes more valuable just to keep him and give it a shot of turning him around?

Just had a quick peak at their season from this year and even though they beat Giants (their heads weren't in the game) and Eagles (at the G who doesn't beat them there) they really didn't beat anyone of any significance and I really cant see them making finals next year. Definitely would be a top 10 pick IMO and will be around the same mark as this year.

this year we belted gws and geelong, beat wce, and lost to hawks by a point, dogs by 3 points and a couple of kicks the first time (when in front at 3/4 time and no bench). our issues were the teams playing soft footy not the better teams playing contested ball. every pies supporter thinks our list is good enough to play finals next year.

re rockliff / hanley. I've said this elsewhere, lions should be pushing them out the door now. might end up with 5 picks under 21 this year and that's a huge base of elite kids added to the good tall kids you've got.
