What i will tell you is that, with-holding supply of product and then releasing a new range, generally results in a record sales year and people clamber for the new product for fear of out-of-stocks ......we'll see shall we ? ;)
Thats all well and good, but what about those little kids that want to get into footy and spend their christmas money.......

That's exactly the thought process that'll cause a sales bonanza for the club when the new stock is released

Yeah nah, the moments gone. School is back. Families don't have the money now. A month ago, it was a spending frenzy.
Was a spending frenzy because of a stock run-out .....there will be another frenzy once the new range are introduced .....trust me on this, the combination of both will give the club a record sales year for merchandise ....just the pipe-fill alone will be a bonanza for the club

You're not getting what we are putting down, those that have bought power guernseys because that was the only choice at the time, are not buying a new crows jumper in a few weeks because its a new jumper.

Are you serious that the public buys whatever team gear is available ......surely you can't say that without a giggle

Agreed, poorly done at the expense of selling out BLK as 2017 gear cheap to supporters.

Kinda stinks.

I purchased a BLK travel jacket, vest, hat and training guernsey last week for less than $100, not complaining one bit

So they don't support a team? They're just wandering into Rebel Sport and they're going to decide who they barrack for when they arrive?

I'm sure its happened, young kids with parents not interested in footy or people new to the country.

Who the **** would do that?

Who is this fictional person that goes to Rebel Sport to get a Crows jumper and when they're out buys a Power instead?

When I was 10, I would have lost my shit if I was given a Port jumper.

If you want to make a completely fictional argument, at least say the parents bought Strikers gear instead. That's vaguely plausible.

what does your expertise say about a club missing out on the Xmas and January school holiday sales period, where most retailers get their biggest numbers? Are we expecting an abnormally high March?

So - what should we have been selling at that time?? Somehow make guernseys appear? I thought you didn't like that we were selling 2017 BLK at a discount? Maybe that all went to happy kids with their Christmas money.

And if people wanted Crows merch as a gift, there still were ample options.

This whole discussion is just gum flapping and a complete irrelevance. Who gives a shit?

Feels a bit like having no Head of Football during trade week to me.

I think it may just be that we haven't signed off on the deal with ISC yet, maybe we've decided they are the one and are just working through the final details. Announce it and then sort out the details later and have zero negotiating power.

I say this because the thing about once the new supplier is announced we can't sell the BLK stuff seems to not be true. All of the other clubs that have announced new suppliers have BLK stock discounted on their websites, except the Saints who only moved to BLK for this season, they are selling 2016 ISC gear at full price.

I have a feeling it will be a long time before the public can buy 2017 merchandise, the only clubs that have been able to announce new deals are those that had planned to move away from BLK after this season, none of them are selling anything made by their new suppliers yet.

Remember though that the online club stores are not actually run by the clubs themselves. They're all done by Infinite Retail at a centralised location in Sydney. Thats why the discounts offered at the West Lakes store aren't available online. They're different businesses.

I think the other major thing holding up an announcement is probably that the Club/ISC won't want the players still training in BLK gear once its announced. Could be as simple as waiting for enough players gear to be produced/arrive.
