Treloar - I say no
Merrett - will probably be a yes
Dangerfield and Selwood - both yeses
Kelly, Scully and Shiel - Kelly a yes, and the other two will be interesting if they are also listed
Mitchell - being used in the Foxtel ads to promote it so a yes
Martin - yes
Ross - no
Kennedy - yes
Bontempelli - they could put him up forward or on the bench or on the wing

So that's seven yeses without considering either Sloane, Crouch and the other two GWS midfielders. Notice there are no actual real wingers named in the squad.

Matt Crouch. We did not deserve 8 players in the top 40. This was done by victorian selectors to push up the price of our players. So obvious. Betts, crouch, sloane and jacobs are the only ones thst deserved to be in the 40 and jacobs is debateable at best. How Lever is in the squad over Rampe is laughable.

Very bizarre inclusions this year. Jonas? Garlett? Bontempelli? Scully? Ross?

I would have had Oliver and Duncan in the squad at the very least instead of any of those.

I think it is. Recently the most a team had was 6 players. In 2011, 2010, and 2009 Geelong had 7 players.

I think you need to remove the tin-foil hat...
Lever I agree with - don't think he should've made it, but it's not the most ridiculous selection.
Lynch is borderline, but again fair enough, I think - won't make the final 22.
Laird had the 4th most possessions in the league as a half-back.
Walker led the league in goal assists, and was behind only Franklin for Goals + Assists (after Franklin kicked 10 in the last round, while Walker didn't play)
People look at the games Sloane got tagged out of it, but it wasn't more than about 5... and in many other games he dominated. Also led the league in tackles.

Jonas - Tredrea push?
Garlett - they love players like that
Bontempelli - good and young and was in last year.
Scully - plays the most tog so has to be good and the raves about how the All Blacks have been studying his fitness push him into the squad.
Ross - not sure about this one at all
Oliver - got lots of possessions, didn't do much with it.
Duncan - a possibility but he was pushed out in favour of other half backs they prefer more and to get in more midfielders.
