I know that it is a necessary evil... but i really don't like the having to register for a GF ticket before we have even made it thing..
Feels like getting ahead of ourselves

Yes I know it is the same for all the preliminary finalists

Lol, yeah same.

Also this sounds really shitty- but am not giving my membership barcodes out to ppl for this game, even tho I could. Am scared they'd register them for the GF!

Ended up with two additional tickets due to stupid Ticketek website. They are centre wing top level category 3. Section 537. One concession and one adult. Anyone want them before I call ticketek to give them back?

For any Cats fans who jagged tickets between bays 132 and 125 (and I know 127 was a Geelong bay), good news, you're near the James Squire bar, the only general bar outside of the corporate areas that sells something other than Hahn Super Dry

I was actually after some West End in a plastic cup with a lid myself......

Nah cheers that sounds good. Good to have a plan b in case the game goes pear shaped

It's outdoors, ground floor, base of the eastern stand facing the riverbank stand, near the entrance to something called Kidzone. Has the full JS selection, Fifty Lashes over Super Dry any day.

Hahn super dry not on sale in finals
Afl has control
Carlton draught :drunk::mad: (or west end tins)
Though, I did find a random bar which did iron jack. (Eastern stand, 500 level. About 538ish - I'm 90% sure in the home and away season it's a Hahn super dry express lane though)

Tickets secured. Now just got to navigate the harder logistics of work and flights...
I just came into this thread curious as to how many Cats supporters would head over, doesn't appear to me many. I would've thought we'd see 10-15k over here, but I anticipate your supporter base isn't as used to the big road trips like us interstate clubs that do regularly get the 15-20k's travelling for big prelims.

Anyway onto my point....

The best way to get here (during finals time) is to drive. By the time you drive to an airport, check in, fly, get off, etc, it is probably 3-4 hour effort that you're paying $500+ for. Compare that to a drive, which is 8 hours plus stops, and costs about a tank and a half of fuel, and you're really saving money, for not a huge cost time wise.

Personally if I was a Cats fan I'd leave home about 7am Friday, arrive in town about 5pm. Find some cheap accommodation for the night in the CBD, drop your stuff off, walk down to the oval. Then as long as you head off before about 3-4pm you should be home the next day before midnight.

Anyway hopefully that helps. Sorry to jump into your thread, just thought I'd point it out. In 2014 for the prelim it cost me $50 in petrol (4 people in car), $50 in accommodation (4 people in cheap room in Ballarat), plus a ticket. So if you need to save cash it can certainly be done super cheap.
