Changing tune for a minute, any interest in trying to pick up Jonty Scharenberg this year ?? Potentially in the rookie draft ??
Tried to watch him against Sturt on Saturday, barely saw him despite the 24 disposals. Not sure if he changed numbers but I had trouble spotting him. Obviously I was too focused on Sturt.

That's not from a source, that's purely gut instinct !!
It's not gut instinct, it's lower in the gut. Past the Small intestine, near the sphincta.

DABM - never trust a fart.

Under what basis would anyone in their right mind set out to give something away for less than market value?

My vision is we take a step aback and analylze what we need.
We need to delist 4 players Thommo, Cheney, Wigg, and Ellis-Yolman. Drop Shaw Rookie List
1st Round Pick, 2nd Round F&S Edwards, 3rd Round Greenwood, 4th Round Keath. Rookie MacLeod and Wigg +1.
Not sure if Beech can stay on Rookie List

None whatsoever now, he's doing a fair job playing as a back flanker in the SANFL, we're stacked with that type, and all are better skills wise. If he can't play as an inside mid he just hasn't got enough tools for AFL.

Lever would be

McGovern less likely. Think he'd be WA or stay.

To be honest though I'm less worried about Collingwood than some other clubs given where the list seems to be at with Wells/Mayne plus the coaching situation. Not sure it would be as enticing a destination as previously.

On top of this, Collingwood have decent trade currency if it does come down to it.

Whatever happened to Ben Kennedy? Appears to be tearing it up for Casey Scorpions but just can't crack AFL team. Rumors of some ongoing off field issues..
He's just rubbish and set to be delisted. With Melbourne developing their list and focussing on moving forward, and potentially playing finals this year, he obviously isn't in their plans and is left to rot in the VFL. Port should pick him up, along with Motlop !!!

What about Aaron Francis, not sure I've ever seen him play at AFL level.

Really liked the look of him when he was a junior, but don't think I've heard of him since??

I think the big hope was he'd furnish into that big bodied mid that's all the go currently but the problem in that regard was always his lack of endurance.
Saw one of his VFL games here this year and played the unaccountable "Ricky Henderson" role across half back, took some intercept marks and played OK... can certainly roost the pill.

Two years in and still doesn't seem to have a decent tank for whatever reason?

2017 Season

4 VFL Rotated between defence and attack. Had hands full at times down back, but okay forward. -
5 Coll Lovely early goal at half forward but a little starved of the footy thereafter. 3
6 Rested.
7 Frem A booming kick but was off target with three behinds. 4
8 VFL No impact at all and was disappointing. Needs to lift. -
9 Groin.
10 VFL Missed a few chances and is still yet to tear a game apart. -
11 VFL Booted three goals and marked strongly at times. Getting back to some form. -
12 VFL Had some exciting moments, but was just fair overall playing in attack. -
13 Bye.
14 VFL 10 possessions – all kicks. Just going at the moment. -
15 VFL Played in defence and looked to have more confidence in that role. -
16 VFL Starred early on, the influence waned against the Roosters. -
17 VFL Needs to develop his fitness if Dons want him in the midfield. Had 22 touches. -
18 VFL Had some good moments in the first half before he seemed to be sore in the second stanza. Finished the day with 14 touches. -
19 VFL Used at both ends and was a good performer – relished the contest late. -

What's his contract status? If endurance is the main issue I'd be happy to sound him out.

Seemed so talented as a junior.

Feeling pretty good about missing out on this one, looking like a bullet dodged.

Who have we ever given away for true market value?

Got more for a free agent than any other club in AFL history.

Got market value for Lyons, considering no one wanted him.

Angus Brayshaw looked strong in his return. Also admitted he felt a bit on the outer at Melbourne over the past few months in an interview. Granted he was talking about his ability to get back into the side among so many good young mid's having breakout seasons, but if he's having thoughts like that he might be a good player to target from that heavily midfield skewed demons outfit.

Don't love his concussion history though.

Nah, I wouldn't do it for just that reason. One more head knock and that could be it for him and your trade goes up in smoke. If he was going cheap it might be worth a look, but Melbourne wouldn't be selling him cheap.

It is certainly offputting, having said that the same question was raised with Tippett the year he left and their hasn't had any lingering issues (unless you count just being a shit bloke as a lingering issue)

Interesting that a lot of the Collingwood board actually thinks Sidebum is overrated.

Don't understand that thinking
His field kicking is overrated but that's about it. He's still the best gut runner at the club, a good accumulator, good leader, and ridiculously good around the goals on both feet.

The problem with having the largest supporter base in the country is that you get the largest amount of idiots to go with it. Half our board are losing their minds at the moment because of a few of years in the wilderness. Some of the criticisms of our players are borderline insane.

Loving Scharenberg at the moment. Hope he starts to play well for you guys
