Actually no. I was one of them and I posted that given his lack of game time and being from Victoria why would he stay and he was at risk of going. I was gladly wrong, but I don't think anyone posted he was unhappy.

A solid midfielder but not worth bringing in because he doesn't add anything else to the squad and probably will cost too much.

We need to be getting Rockliff. May cost nothing and as long as his shoulders pass a medico he will add far more than sidebum.

Lever has achieved 3/5th's of eff-all in his career. Sure everyone says he is the next coming of Rance, but that means didley-squat in real terms. Right now he is a 3rd tall defender with a lot of potential.

Sidebottom is at least the equivalent of Gibbs, at least. I like him more ... but that is only because I like the way he goes about it.

There is no way on Jeeber's Green Earth that any trade with Collingwood would include a low first rounder AND a player like Sidebottom, unless we are sending Tex or Sloane along in the deal

Agree. Rockliff is the glaring opportunity right now. We shouldn't miss out. If we can secure Rockliff and Lever wants to go to the Pies then Danger in Texas 's suggestion of sidebottom + an exchange of firsts would be too good to pass up. Personally, I would rather us end up something like this:

Out: 2017 first, 2017 second, 2017 third, Lever
In: Rockliff (free), Gibbs, Pick 7, Scharenberg

Where we get Pick 7 + Scharenberg for Lever and a 2nd/3rd and a 1st and 2nd/3rd for Gibbs and Rockliff as an FA

But the alternative of:
Out: 2017 first, Lever
In: Rockliff (free), Sidebottom, Pick 7

Would also be a win. Lever is worth around $450k in my opinion. We would have to pay at least $600k to $650k to keep him which I am in favour of us doing assuming we wont get any other big names in. However, if we can strengthen in other areas then its worth letting him go.

Massive over-rating of Lever too. If they want to pay him $750k then its collingwood that are rating him higher than Sidebottom. If they think he is worth more than Sidebottom then a straight swap doesnt cut it. They need to throw something else in.

Douglas 2.0 as in 2012 best and fairest ? (Or whatever year it was).

Players don't usually play / behave the same in different clubs, their output is the aggregate of their skill and the structure/ players around him.

There were a few references here and there:

It's not over analysing, it's putting yourself in Doedees shoes. First round pick, from Victoria who hasn't had one game and is uncontracted. That's a recipe for a player leaving if I've ever seen one.

Tom Doedee - Re-sign or could request trade

We would play Doedee but he wants out too.

Let's be honest, we should have gone for Burton who will play at least 200 games with the hawks. If Doedee leaves, that goes down as an epic waste of a first round pick.

What if Doedee has refused to sign a new contract?

All clubs try to get at least a one year extension from their first round draft picks by the middle of their second season. Not a single whisper about a new contract for Doedee. If he is leaving then should we be playing him?

What he has achieved so far isn't why clubs are offering 750k - 850k for him. If collingwood want to pay a 21 year old big dollars then they should be prepared pay something decent in a trade. I think you've ignored the part where we're giving back this years first. As for Gibbs, I'd ask for the same deal if he went to carlton.

There's only really one mention in there of directly what Heafy was point at - that was from MS. Maybe two if you count the one from Jack.
