So this was my prediction before the season started:

Lol, one game?

Not even Essendon when they lost all their players due to drug cheating were that bad. Not even Carlton's worst team in the 00's were that bad, and they were significantly worse. No wonder people were not supportive... because it was ridiculous. Carlton in fact would have won a few more last year if they were lucky enough. No team is going to only have one win, you are a fool if you say otherwise.

People who make such ridiculous predictions don't do it out of realism, they do it because they want to see it happen.

You dont guess how many games you think a team will win for the season, you go through game by game and guess the winner.
Which means he thought Carlton would be favorites to win 1 game. Clearly you would win more, but those would mostly be upsets and you dont tip upsets in a predictor.

Regardless, picking one solitary win is a dumb prediction.
