I guess at the very least richcogs is aware of the deadline, as he liked the post I tagged him in yesterday afternoon to advise the 3pm deadline. Saying that, just over a days notice really isn't a long period of time when one is busy with other things, so I don't know if the 3pm deadline today is fair to all.. I understand that there are arguments to say it is fair (it has been 3 months since the AFL drafts etc), but that is just my opinion.

I guess we wait and see what happens, hopefully it is a moot point :)

He should be aware of it based on the above.

haha.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I will give you odds of 49%

If it times out it'll most likely select Bird (unless Daysy_12 has done his rankings). In that case we'd substitute Bird for the highest ranked available draftee from the real draft who, with Scrimshaw now off the board, would be Logue at pick 8 for Freo.

I am preparing myself for the full 12 hour timeout TBH

Hopefully not, Daysy_12 has been pretty good in seasons gone by. He may be busy or on his way to the North v Hawks game. I'm not too phased about waiting the 12 hours, it's more Logue as his autoselection replacement (assuming he hasn't set rankings) isn't in the conversation with the best available from a fantasy perspective, whereas at least Scrimshaw was.

I wouldn't say Scrimshaw was the best available ;), but I guess you could say he was in the conversation if you were having a long chat about it - I wouldn't be surprised to see Logue transform into more of a midfielder, in which case he could be fantastic - not that you would select him based on that hope alone.

I think it depends who you're looking for. If you're after defenders then Scrimshaw is most likely the best prospect at this stage. I know that one of the managers before him were contemplating taking Scrimshaw.

Logue isn't that far behind pick 10 or in the scheme of things imo

Some would rate him there and I have him on my draft board. To me he projects as a Pavlich type player. Could go through the middle, could play as a CHF. Pavlich started as a back too and I think the Freo hierarchy knew what they were looking for when they picked him. Question as to how Ross Lyon will develop him though, I rate the player higher than I rate Lyon's ability to develop young talent.
