Three months to late, that horse has bolted.

Meanwhile....

Moore forward is what we are used to. I get that.
It's a simple concept. He plays forward. He's developing, we need a top forward.
But!
He hasn't yet exploded in the game as a forward. May happen. Hasn't happened yet. He's no Wayne Carey come to that he's no Peter Moore either (yet....)

Interestingly he Was played back as a junior. What if he is to become a star at CHB?
Would it be wrong then?
What harm can come if he learns, at the highest level excellent defensive skills?
And if it doesn't work... it's not written in blood, he must play back.
Still unsure why he can't be tried there.

I'm open minded to these things.
No we should keep him as a forward. Imagine if Essendon stopped persisting with Daniher and moved him back. Moore hardly played back as a junior and when he played there in the VFL he looked average. Terrible idea I have almost had it with Buckley

Moore's not exactly a high output forward yet. Of course we can all envision him being one. But in terms of our 2018 prospects I don't think it would have as negative effect as you think it will. Ben Reid and Mason Cox could form a decent partnership.

(I'm saying this as someone who would prefer Moore to be played forward)
Yeah Cox playing full forward over Moore will not hurt our chances. Lock in a bottom 10 finish yet again

4 hours golf and 2 hours drinking and being horribly politically incorrect safe in the knowledge that I will not be judged.
You can always post your conversation online if you want to be judged.

Another year another forum. The same assurances, the same promises, the same spin.

The team at the Holden Centre are all very capable and rehearsed speakers.... able to sell Soviet cars to Yankees during the height of the Cold War.

Results are all that matters

Yep. You've nailed it on one mate.

I was going to compose a detailed response but I realise it would be a waste of my time if your starting position is that Cox = Witts as a forward option, and that's the best argument you can contrive against Cox as a forward.

How about Witts as a footballer is better than Cox?

There's no argument to deny it.

Reading Grundy's response today he doesn't seem overly thrilled with the idea that he will need to sacrifice ruck minutes to cater for this

Me too, Saintly

He has the skill set to be a jet CHB with the extra ability of providing run from the HBF

Yep, we need a forward, and perhaps he will end up one in the future but if we land Lynch or other options open up and Darcy has had year to develop down back then it may work out in our favour

Let’s just see what happens

Sounded to me he is up for the challenge.

If you are one the premier rucks in the game…not a developing player but probably in the 2-3 best ruckman in the game- would you want to sacrifice your game time to spend more time forward to cater for a player who isn't fit to tie your shoe laces?

Read between the "company line".
The man made it very clear he is a ruckman not a forward.

Nope.

I received a PM from a member of this board halfway through the season telling me Buddy to Swans was a done deal.

Tell us when you get the pm that Lynch is coming to us.

Imagine if Moore actually played like Daniher?
Then you'd have more of a point.

And the great irony is you do judge a lot...

“I provide most of my strengths in the ruck. I've shown over the last couple of years I can win the ball in there. Having said that, I think there's some upside for me playing forward and I just need to develop that.”

Obviously he’s number 1 spot is ruck but it’s a team sport and he needs to help out forward so it sounds like he’s up for it.

I can't even remember who it was that sent me the Franklin PM.

I just remembered that I didn't believe him. Basically since then, I never outright refuse to believe rumours or attack posters that post them.

The email from Lance.buddy.franklin23@gmail wasn't a giveaway?

:p

Yes, I was trying to be diplomatic but he didn't strike me as one of life's deep thinkers. When he mentioned for the 3rd time that he stays fit all year Eddie said "Well good on ya" and threw to the next question.

The key difference being that guy doesn't play six months of top level football as part of his fitness regime...

I suggested earlier that there were some very good questions from the floor. I could be wrong, but I think a fellow named Leo would not be howled down. He asked if the Club had really examined every other option when considering our head coach. When the very Pro-Buckley crowd erupted, Eddie intervened and said words to effect of:
No let him speak, this is what this meeting is all about. It's a fair question. This is what happens in the Collingwood Family. All families have differences of opinion.

Later in the bar, I noticed Eddie speaking with this fellow for at least 20 minutes.

Say what you like about Ed, but he doesn't hide when it comes to facing up to his members.
Yeh all families have a difference of opinion until the owner of the household tells you to move out when he doesn’t like being challenged. That’s been the players under Buckley. Turning them over to keep Nathan in the job. But who the hell actually challenges Eddie for the presidency?

That I do. But only if I feel there is a lack of accountabilty in whatever the circumstances.

Let me rephrase my below comment:

Next time you go, take President Ed along with you and urge him to get it out of his system. That would be a massive help, Mr 'Help My Club'.

So your golf buddies barrack for Carlton?

The 1st question should have been.who was responsible for the recruitment of Mayne and his ludicrous contract and is that person still at the club and if so bloody why.
