Assuming Pies in around 70k, it is already 900k. Will end up around 920k.
I remember Demetriuo saying around 2010 the league was aiming for a million members by 2018 and it seemed a rediculous call. Will be there by 2019. Crazy growth.

Great figures that help drive sponsership and merchandise sales as well Should go close to the 1 million mark next year
Meanwhile at the same time the NRL is at 297,070 which is less than last year at the same time.In Sydney the Swans are # 1 in club memberships and GWS are #5 and growing

they've had to fiddle with the figures to do so though. Official counts have been stretched from purely match access memberships to pretty much anyone who pays at least $50.00 to the club.

Well i am baffled that Collingwood has not put a figure out, it could be because they are down year on year and have Buckleys chance of topping last year.

If Collingwood was heading towards record numbers Eddie would be screaming from the rooftops, that would most likely coincide with a winning team or at least a harmonious supporter base.

they didnt put figures out through last year either and it meant nothing in the end.

Eddie will wait until Hawthorn's total is announced, then announce a few hundred more like he did last year (then the AFL audit reduced it to less than Hawthorn).

No problem with that. If you contribute financially then you are a member.
To have over 900,000 people on clubs databases is huge and what sponsors pay for.

Interesting that GWS have only 4K members in Canberra. 15K in Sydney is fantastic. They will overtake all Sydney NRL clubs except Souths next year.

I'd like to see a breakdown though, or a revenue number

You could limit it to game day but not all clubs can sell the same game day memberships based on the size of their ground, plus not all game day memberships are equal

Revenue details in most clubs annual report.
yes at the end of the year you can get a revenue number but getting it reported on consistently across the clubs is a bit like getting membership numbers reported on consistently

WCE & Freo will be a decent chance to increase next year with Perth Stadium opening.

Crows soar to membership milestone

The Adelaide Football Club has signed more than 70,000 members for the first time in its 27-year history.

The Club’s current total of 72,930 members, achieved 12 rounds into the 2017 season, caps off three successive years of strong membership growth and surpasses the 2016 record of 67,874.

Importantly, the number of 11-game members who have access to every Crows home game at Adelaide Oval is once again among the industry’s best and the Club’s membership renewal rates are also market leading.

The figure is expected to continue to grow, with the Club hosting a further five matches at Adelaide Oval as well as travelling to Melbourne three times before the end of the season.

Attendances for Crows matches have also been among the strongest in the league this season, with the Club attracting an average crowd of 46,489 for the first six home games of 2017.

The Crows’ remaining home games include blockbuster clashes with Hawthorn (Thursday, June 22), Western Bulldogs (Friday, July 7), Geelong (Friday, July 21), Port Adelaide (Sunday, August 6) and Sydney (Friday, August 18).

Tigers well over 70k now. Must be third behind crows then hawks
That is a huge amount for the Crows and yes it will be interesting to see how much the two West Aussie teams improve once the start playing out of the brilliant new stadium next year.It wouldnt surprise that the WC tops the 70,000 mark as well with Fremantle not far behind.

The waiting list for a WCE membership, is currently u known. A few years ago I do remember reading that it was around 7 years. Even with the new stadium there could still could be a waiting list

If it was a revenue number think you would find Eagles and Dockers are nearly the biggest couldnt believe how cheap the memberships were for Melbourne based clubs great value I thought.

Without a waiting queue would this still be the same with the new staduim do you think? They know the demand in extra to get into ?

The memberships will be more expensive for the new stadium... so not sure who gets what out of memberships but my best guess is the Eagles will still have a membership queue which suits them and the Dockers will have some spare seats.

? any breakdown on numbers of paid up AFL club members who live in Tassie....not just Hawthorn and North members....just gives idea of potential base for a Tassie AFL team if it ever happens....
