Training 2017 Preseason Thread

So today officially marks the beginning of the long grind towards the 2017 premiership flag, with the 1st to 4th years kicking off their preseason training with an easy 2km time-trial and skills session to ease back into things.


5th+ year players return in 2 weeks I believe on the 21st?? and the draftees will join up with the group as they are drafted in the coming weeks.

You can follow along at home thanks to the Goldcoastfc official snapchat for those of you not following it already.

Im pumped to see how well these kids improve over the next few months. Just a shame with the setback with the new facilities.

Yeah that's him in the background, was also at a gold fm radio event a few days ago, thought it was strange if he wasn't going to be at the Suns next year

Looks like both of them are either gunning to earn a spot back on the rookie list or we are going to keep them around and be able to pay them to be full-tiime NEAFL players. There was some talk that we were going to get some extra cash to be able to pay a few senior players that would not have to be on either list.

Most delisted players get offered to continue training with the club until the delisted trade period is over.

Then they all ship out to bush footy or what not when passed up

Looks like Leslie to me? Got no idea though, can't make out any features or anything.

Not sure. One of the academy kids perhaps? Never seen him before. Looks a bit old and mature to be an academy kid though IMO.

“All the boys did really well, I think we were probably getting ridden a little bit that we had to come back in shape which I think is a really positive thing.

“Everyone did that, everyone delivered on their times if not did better which is fantastic for us. I guess it’s just up to the older blokes to come back in good nick as well, bit of pressure.

Has anyone else noticed that the website background has changed from Lynch and Ablett to May and Lynch. I think Ablett has been there every year so maybe this is a sign?

He wanted to be closer to his three young daughters. Can't fault a man for that and the opportunity to play a big part in their lives.
Had nothing to do with football.
