My son is turning 5 next week and asked him what number he wanted on his back. He said Gazza, I said nah mate not happening. I said you can have Lynch, Maysie or Touk - he chanted 'Miller, Miller, Miller'.

Surely Touk is a shoe in to inherit Jaeger's Juniors, although with the way blokes swap clubs these days I would probably avoid using his name in the title of our junior club.

OFFICIAL DAVID SWALLOW RUNNING SIGHTING..... I REPEAT.... DAVID SWALLOW RUNNING SIGHTING!

And new training gear I guess? Certainly.... different. Gone away from the red, gold and blue we have had forever? I thought it may have been like generic BLK gear with logos stuck on as a place holder until we get our new sponsor or something, but now I dont know.

David Swallow in full training:)

Lol at Fiat and BLK logos on the players' training gear.

100% Agree - Lynch and May to be co-captains next year.

Just need one final great decision to draft all highly rated mids/ halfbacks and we've made a terrific start to our 2017 campaign.

If Hanley can get back to best form we've got an absolute gun.

He's back alright. wow. :straining::fire:

NEW Sun Michael Barlow says ex-teammate Harley Bennell provided a glowing endorsement of his former club.

Barlow trained with the Suns for the first time on Friday after signing as a restricted free agent last week.

The 28-year-old said he had sought counsel from Bennell, and another former Sun and Docker Greg Broughton as well as Suns assistant coaches Dean Solomon and Ashley Prescott about the club and life on the Coast.

Although all painted a picture of a club he would love to play for, he said it was the way the Suns made him feel he would be a valued addition that convinced him to choose the Gold Coast over several other options.

“With the Gold Coast situation, I felt like I was really wanted,” he said.

“There was a pitch to me to come and be involved.’’

Bennell left the Suns a year ago under strained circumstances after running out of chances with a football department who had tired of his off-field antics.

But Barlow, who has played 125 games for the Dockers, said the former No. 2 draft pick had been highly encouraging about playing football here.

“Harley’s time here was probably shorter than he would have liked and the club would potentially have liked, but he was really complimentary of the playing group and the lifestyle as well,’’ he said.

“I think, for me I have been in the footy bubble for seven years now and specifically this year it did become suffocating and at times overwhelming.

“I had a good chat to Harley about what it is like here and there is a god balance of being able to commit as fiercely as you can as a professional athlete but you can step away from it also at times.

“I have been in his ears a bit about the transition and to be honest he has been nothing but complimentary.’’

Have a lot of respect for Harley doing that. Shows a lot of maturity that he's recognised it was his stuff up that sent him home and he can still speak highly of the experience being a footy player on the GC. No sour grapes at all. Have a lot of time for that and he's won back some respect from me.

Hope you get the body and head completely right and tear it up Harls
