Today session , lot of coaches around wearing green shirt . Half ground simulation. Compare to last year this year pre season training definitely more intense . Not putting too much positive spin here but Tab , Langdon continue to improve and Sandi vs Apeness in simulation a lot to like.

Negative: Apart from simulation
Fyfe and mundy try to avoid each other .

Just rocked up to training and walking towards the Soufs clubhouse and run into Coulda and we are having a natter and Crumpetface rocks up and parks his Mazda. He says hello to the famous Coulda and goes up into the old stand with his Binoculars. So he is here folks. Dudley docker salim malik

Ahhhh, that is who he has been getting his "info" from

Must be getting a close up look at Bennell after the positive media attention this week. Trying to sniff out a non-existent scandal to bring him down a peg.
Bennell is in the rehab group and wasn't training at the time . Ballas came out at one stage and had shots on goal on his own. That might be something for the Crumpet to report on.
Crumpetface was there from about 9.30 am for an hour. He eventually came near the verandah where we were and went to the toilet but as he approached the area there was some shouting of Crumpetface and someone must have been stuttering as I heard "Your a Grub" shouted out 3 Times in a row. Ha ha No names no pack drill as to who shouted what.@TheInjuryFactory salim malik Harry Reems

The upside of 2017 compared to 2016 is huge at Freo. The young kids get another and proper preseason under their belt; not a 2016 preseason where the club got all experimental and went away from what has worked in the past; the return of the injured Fyfe, Bennell(?), A.Pearce, Mundy and Johnno; a Peel premiership shared among the kids that were fighting for the same spots that De Boer, Gu, Mayne and Barlow occupied; some proper key position forwards that the coaching staff can actually build upon, instead of good ol' "kick it on top of Pav's head while he's double teamed."

I know every team thinks they're going to go the season undefeated during preseason but i'll be disappointed if we don't win more than four games this season.

Agree completely with 98% of your post but you're setting the bar low at 4 games. I'll be disapponted if we don't win 10 games.

How big a loss would Mundy be?

If his performance levels decline is he able to play another role?

I'd have Blakely and Mundy almost on-par in terms of importance to the team this year so Mundy is important but not in the Fyfe/Sandilands/Neale/Walters category.

Mundy playing purely at half forward/half back with 60-70% game time would still be very valuable.

10 or more should be a pass after the 2016 win/loss ratio. I'm looking forward to seeing where all the media sees our pass mark this year and if any see us making the 8

The weather gods absolutely turned it on for my maiden training appearance.

I was able to sneak through the gates undetected by the geriatrics crew. I noticed they all seem to congregate near that roped off area. What's the matter boyos can't handle the sunshine?

I saw Haggers. I feel really bad for him as he has terrible scarring. He should use moisturiser so he can have radiant skin like me.

Now for the boring stuff...

I watched Hammer and Fyfe in a 1v1 contested marking drill, and Hammer did very well. Fyfe was really pissed at himself and at one stage said "just catch the ****ing ball". It was quite funny, but goes to show how competitive Fyfe is. Hammer is an extremely good player though, and his ability to apply body pressure to Fyfe was excellent.

The team split up and did some lane work. The skills were reasonable to good. I didn't really see anything special that made me squeal like a schoolgirl & gush in my diary (note: changed by mod. Keep it classy thanks)

The team split up again. As the players were a bit far away for me to accurately identify who was who, and this is made especially hard when some of them are wearing hats. However, watching the teams play the handball and kicking game I was still a bit confused by the decision making of some players. Darcy got admonished in particular for "taking too long". Players like Langdon were able to pick the right target and execute the skill which was pleasing to see.

I'm not sure if Mundy and Fyfe were deliberately 'avoiding' each other but I did notice that they were never in the same group as each other (except for the half-field exercise).

The team split up into two half-field training exercises. The backs at one end and the mids/fwds at the other. The backs were focusing on moving the ball out of defence. Ibbo really needs a kick up the ass because I thought his ability to make decisions was ****ed. At one stage some guy in a green shirt gave the group a kick up the ass for failing to see Weller free in a good position.

I thought:

Logue - was pretty good - his fitness is a real strength
Hughes - This guy can kick the ball extremely well
Sutty - Thought he did alright
Hamling - This guy can play - Very impressive
Crozier - He was alright

At one stage the yellow bibs all had to do push ups for allowing Darcy to stroll into a goal. It was so ridiculous as the yellow bibs had an extra player to help them. It looks like we will be playing a +1 in defence if this drill was anything to go by.

I didn't really get to see what the fwd/mids were doing, but I noticed McCarthy kicked an absolute pie into the forward line which was easily spoiled. Ross was a bit like "wtf were you trying to do?".

Uber was walking laps most of the session. He has a ****ing hugely bigly scar down his calf. His left calf is noticeably smaller than his right.

You pretty much spot on , so their skill is not good enough for you to do a George Michael .

Disagree on Ethan ,as I saw him miss target not a lot but definitely not kicking the footy extremely well.

Sportsbet have a seasons wins market, ours is set at 10.5 wins and both options are at $1.87 so there's been no real money either way.

Pre season moving to cockburn late feb according to afl website/bond should help in getting the boys in perfect condition by the start of the season :)

Dockers are close to moving from historic Fremantle Oval to their new state of the art facility at Cockburn, with Bond expecting the club to relocate in late February.

I'm probably thinking of the wrong player then. Like I said when they wear those white hats I can't tell them apart.

Dirty_banchez How is Luke Ryan looking out there? Is Hamlings kicking acceptable or actually pretty good?

Hamlings kicking is pretty decent from what I have seen but even Danyle Pearce's kicking is great at training.

I went down today as well. It looked like they were doing drills focusing on avoiding turnovers. As for the forward group I felt like they were trying to intercept the bomb out of 50 to a contest (that teams like North seem to favour) gain possession then spread it to the other side of the field and I50 to the free space

Bennell's face was covered with a strange white substance* at training on Monday.

*most likely zinc cream.

A pass mark for me is 5+ wins, simply because other teams will also improve; with the exception of GWS, Hawthorn, Sydney and Brisbane , every other team can beat each other. AFL has done a good job of equalisation.

Luke Ryan look ready to play if spurr, croz go down .I think he not going 100% with the shoulder strap as a precautions. Danyle been told he is too slow to move the ball , can heard ross mention " again just too slow "

I thought Ueber's issue was his hamstring??? Did he blow his calf as well?
Not sure but look like will be missing half of peel thunder season:( , will be miracle too stay on the list next year .

Interesting report!

Uber is probably going to be another one of those players that we just wont know if they were going to be AFL standard because of injury. Like Irish last year, it was important to get out on the park and poor old Uber sounds miles away.
