it's a bugger about Jarrod although not catastrophic, if we can get through the JLT and go into round 1 with most of our list available that will be a bonus. nothing surer than we/every team will get injuries, the severity and who sustains the injury is what counts, the collision injuries are unavoidable, i just hope we have cutting edge strategies in place to mitigate the chances of soft tissue injuries, recovery techniques and work load schedules are critical.

One of our players who got delisted from last season had a bit of a gripe against us, he was insinuating that our recovery methods weren't very good which prolonged his absense on the field. He was constantly injured as well. Just wondering, is that a gripe because he got delisted or a legitimate worry that we need to consider?

Can't remember which one but I know of one Watts or McGuinness had a pop about that (I think it was Watts).
We have had plenty of practice rehabbing players sadly so we ought to be good at it!

hopefully with our new overlords (Fagan/Noble) we have improved in that area. i think we would have, i have seen a few players/staff mention that we have a much more individualised training program in place this off season.

If it's the bloke I'm thinking of he had reasonable cause to be miffed.

Looks like he has already had it done as he is back on his feet. When l saw "knee blow" l automatically thought, "oh god its another ACL". Feels like l am traumatized with how many the AFL and our club are having

You're in good company

Bugger - No doubt it is difficult to get every players recovery right first time but disappointing nonetheless.

As long as we have learned from it.

We should've "learnt" from it years ago, afterall we are supposed to be a professional club at the highest level of the game....surely we are capable of getting medicos who know what the hell they are doing?

Remember though that every player is different, and every injury is different. While there are some tried and trusted techniques that doesn't automatically mean they always work on every player every time.

That said a medical professional should also be capable of identifying if something is not working.

*And by the way (if you are going to try and be clever) learnt and learned are both acceptable past tense uses of the word learn.

This happens at every club, it's not just up to the medical staff. The players is just as repsponsible for their recovery as anyone. To make a blanket statement is just plain lazy.

*And by the way (if you are going to try and be clever and second guess me) I wasn't in the slightest way having a go at your spelling. I knew I was right as you were too. I was having a go at the club and what they should KNOW, not "learnt" as they went along and after all this time etc..
