Every week is it getting worse with Clayton trade with Eagles , but look like Cameron is no better . All hope is gone with this year trade apart from GC academy . Got high hope with Graham and Koenan as KPP , so please don't pick KPP ( KPD or KPF ) in the first round .

Who did Cameron draft while at GWS?

My main hope for him is that he takes more logical options than Clayton did. I don't actually think Clayton was bad but his downfall was that he'd always go for hail mary selections at the draft rather than safe logical options which often turned out to be touchdowns anyway at other clubs.

Plus side... Hawthorn slide further down the ladder. Can't complain.

What that got to do with Hawthorn , I thought we got a good deal out of it . We don't even had Hawthorn draft pick this year .

With those boys coming through and covered under the Academy concessions and what we have already, I'll do my na na if we recruit anything but the best available mid at pick 4 or whatever our first pick is, unless by some miracle Lukosius slips. Sick of our recruiting department being too smart with our selections over the years. Keep it simple. We need to build our midfield, there's no guarantee the kids we already have will make it, keep recruiting midfielders until we have the midfield we need to compete.

A bit early , but who you would like to delist to welcome newbie . I go with Sexton .

Willis
Lonergan
Nicholls
schoenfield - pay him out
Rischa
Rosa
Holman

Delist or payout all of above. Worthless on the market
That will be 7 players with possible 2 more Lynch and Hall . Who is Willis ?

Tim Taranto (gun), Setterfield (ACL in pre season) tall mid, Perryman defender, Cumming defender.
Clayton had 25 picks inside top 20. Cameron might be junk as well but you couldn’t keep Clayton here. Every recruiter gets it wrong but most accept that and move players on. We hoarded far too many that weren’t close to be AFL standard and others that still can’t hit a teammate 20 metres away

I go with Bailey Smith , Sam Walsh is more like swallow .

Walsh is probably a safer pick for the go home factor. He is a massive Brisbane lions fan and is happy to move north from what I’ve read. Has a awesome inside and outside game with real burst speed playa similar to Treloar

Why not go for need ? Hately from SA , people keep mention here GCS need big bodied and yet everytime draft skinny kids , I think Ainsworth will become better with more time in Midfield.

I liked the Taranto reach and turns out it wasn't a reach. Cameron has a clean slate with me. People always look at history of recruiters, coaches presuming they aren't learning or developing. It's no different to any other field.

We need a goal kicking mid like Selwood/Ablett/Sidebottom/Isaac Smith/Luke Parker/Dustin Martin/Shaun Higgins
These are guys who have averaged over a goal match generally throughout their careers
We need fewer mules at the bottom of the packs and more thoroughbreds

Until we start winning no A+ midfielder will join us. Of course, we should try to attract some. Personally, I believe, they have to come internally from our young developing players, still 1-2 years to go I am afraid.

We desperately need our Academy to produce a superstar. So far it’s produced a few honest toilers.
We need better than that.

Why people here so afraid of SA players going home and like to continue drafting Victoria boys like Sam Walsh ?

We have to produce our own and I think Dew has identified this by fast tracking Ainsworth and Brodie in the midfield , gonna be some pain with this till they rack up 40-50 games but it’s got to happen with these high draft picks.
