Hampson , Griffiths , Drummond
Miles,Conca,Lloyd,Bolton could all also either stay or go depending on what offers they get
Miles ,Conca ,Llyod compare to Lyons , Miller , Ainsworth , Swallow , Martin , Ah Chee , you asking GCs to paid Llyod (29 ) , Miles (27) next year to play NeAFL . What a waste of time from VFL to NeAFL . I tell you who in your Richmond list got value , prestia, caddy, Graham, Townsend , Rioli , Butler ,Castagna .

I think GCS can afford to be patient and Miles and Llyod cannot , because once they are delisted , they either go and play state football or accept whatever come their way .
Llyod 29 next year
Miles 28

GWS fan here.

We are legitimately hoping Matt de Boer is fit. I would take Miles back in a heartbeat.

Your club can afford to pick him with so many superstar in Midfield ,Kelly, Cognilio ,sieal. Whitfield ,Scully , Taranto . With Shipley and other developing in NeAfl .Also if Delidio injury gone bad Miles at least can mask a bad trading with Richmond . Regarding Deboer isn't it your club draft him after he delisted by Freo . I think you should do the same with Miles if you really want him . Sorry THE_GUN

Yep, we did.

Not to put the knife in, but ... well. It's your board. You fill it in.

If Miles gets delisted by Richmond, and GWS sign him and he gets a couple of fifteen possession seven clearances games, then. Well.

Miles will be an out of contract free agent, so will cost nothing in a trade if he wants to move.

The kicker is the, if he wants to move, part.

Then I prefer having pick 47 reserve for GCS academy . Three club will not had second Rd Fremantle , Geelong , Essendon . so there will be goody in Second Rd from 20-30 range where club Rate players differently . I mean nobody rate Powell at 19 last year , so I presume recruiter will see thing differently.
I believe each club had their own top 30 list very different from each other rather than the same .
The pick 47 will be useless if you don’t have the coresponding vacant list spot.

Going to be interesting to see what we do to open up list spots for our 6 picks in the 3 rounds.
That has been a consistent problem for us.
A combination of hanging on to players for a year or 2 too long, and taking on future picks in trades we did not really want to make.

Last season we had too many high picks for the available list spots, given we wanted to add an academy player or 2. So the Eagles deal made some sense. But even at the time it was a 75 cents to the dollar trade just to get some value back for all those 2nd rounders. Now it is 25 cents to the dollar. Ouch.

Getting the impression from Dew that anyone who can’t kick is on the chopping block. He’s trying to implement that uncontested keep possession by foot game style but it’s unraveling due to woeful field kicking. With talk of McVeigh possibly coming then even Harbs isn’t safe. Geelong had 26 scoring shots from our turnovers. That’s surely a record

Trust me spots will be open up. Pick 47 will be better off for academy players like Greenwool , or Graham or upgrade Dawson and Vacant spot in Cat B rookie . That is also a big IF , like I said you think Adelaide will bid at pick 16;, if they don't then isn't it a waste of time worried about thing you can't really control .

I don't believe IF anymore .

Thats the last problem in a Miles or Lloyd trade , Richmond would facilitate a trade for min pick or pick exchange something like a late 5th round , The issue would be to get Miles to come to GC but once they agree the trade would go through easily
If he is delisted, GcS or GWS can pick him in open draft , no need to ask him willing to come or not . He is out of contract his manager will ask Richmond whether his contract will be renew. Not need to be desperate he is not dusty, crotchin, Prestia or Rance. Surely he will be told stay with Richmond he is playing more vFL

Happy to keep him on low coin for depth as we did last year, Wouldnt be surprised if he ended up at Carlton or Essendon to be honest

I really dont get your obsession with getting him as a delisted free agent ? Specially when you could just have him for pick 128
I don't like him as a player , will be happy other club get him ahead of us ,he is not our main Priority .I don't get why you are so obsessed pushing a player you are willing to keep to us. A lot like Snake oil salesmen. Your tactic is never give up , come in once trying to sales Miles , not working and keep looping the topic until people give in .

I never said I think Adelaide will bid. I did say if I was Adelaide, I would bid to increase the number of players available at my next pick by 1. Clubs in this scenario aren't targeting a specific kid, they're just increasing the likelihood of a better player being available to them.

Of course there are more factors to take in to account. What your club deems as the highest pick they would be willing to match a bid on Scott at. What type of players/positions clubs after that pick will be looking at. If you are chasing mids, and the teams before your pick are chasing KPP's or general forwards or defenders, then it's more likely the type of player you are looking at will be available at your next pick, provided Scott isn't bid on before then. But if those teams are looking at mids as well, you are looking at a smaller pool of players available at your pick.

I was suggesting that you should look at the big draft picture and see where your club could take advantage, if there is an opportunity. And to also take in to account other clubs will also look to gain an advantage where possible

It's still very early in the season, and I'm in no way a draft expert (just a mug punter), but I put this big board up in the Lions draft discussion as we are also targeting mids. We'll likely have a draft pick in the picks 1 to 4 range, so unless we get pick 1, one of the top U18 mids will be available to us. The next group of top mids are all likely to fall before our next pick in the second round. So if we want to target a second first round pick, we most likely need to trade in to the 11 to 15 picks range. Curtis Taylor and Tom Berry being my two preferred targets. Of course all this discussion is just us blowing smoke, as none of us on BigFooty have any influence on what our clubs do.

1. Jack Lukosius
2. Sam Walsh - General Mid

13. Jack Bytel - Inside Mid

14. Jye Caldwell - General Mid

I agree , if BAILEY Scott, nominate North or Geelong then your scenario will not kick in .

I'm not sure why you would draft him.

He's an unrestricted free agent. He can sign for any club he wants during the trade period, with the club signing him not having to give up anything but his pay packet. He might generally not want to leave Melbourne, and be content playing VFL rather than heading north.

In my opinion I don't want him , no point signing players who don't want to be here. That's way I told the GWS poster to sign him, if he Rated him highly.

One of the most outstanding talents I’ve ever seen, a game breaker, a genius and a beautiful man.
At the right club he could win them both a Premiership and get the Brownlow.

No Sam Walsh?

Hately really does look like he has the body to become another Cripps, but I have real questions about his kicking.

From a Brisbane Lions perspective I'd love Bailey Smith or Sam Walsh with our first, Tom Berry with our second, and Lachlan Sholl with our third.

And trade our 2019 first or 2018 PP (if we get an early one) for Angus Brayshaw.

I think Bailey Scott will be same type as Walsh , Hately and Zane barzen ability to move forward playing third tall create flexibility to rotate before they spend more time in Midfield ( Ainsworth) . I am more concerned about players kicking in the backline or outside position.

Hately is hard to deny. Definitely my favourite in this draft. His kicking doesn't concern me as it's not woeful and he's a 192cm inside player. Wins it inside playing at 80kg against men in the SANFL so will be a beast when he bulks up. Love Berry at our second pick.

We need to overstock on genuine inside mid talent and hope one or two of them unearth as superstars. Hate how we ride our future hope on a few talented players currently because it often doesn't work out as planned. Play the numbers game.
