How long is Gray out for?
Unlikely this week. Probably play the week after imo.How long is Gray out for?
I wonder what he would've got if his name was "Elite AFL Player."
lol joke of an organisation the AFL
3 weeks for a tackle
Still dont like it as it opens a can of worms.Perhaps, but that tackle was very similar to the one Gibbs laid on Gray in 2015 that also concussed him which Gibbs copped 2 weeks for. When Gray's brain turns to mush post footy career those 5 weeks served by Gibbs & Nyhais will pale into insignificance.

What about the players of the pre 90s
Do they get millions in compensation as they were paid peanuts to play?
If they head down this road eventually the tackle dies. The bump is already mostly dead.
Wont be long until Jeremy Howe knocks someone out taking a hanger on their head and that will get banned too.
What we are left with is nothing but touch footy.
These guys like you and me are paid to do a job. Footy players suffer all kinds of life long effects from playing the game. That's why they get compensated for their time and their efforts.
Ive got health issues from my work. Its all part of it IMO. No one forcing them to get on the field and they have the right like a mouthguard to wear headgear for protection.
All moving a little to fast for my liking.
Easy for me. I'm in the No Trades Remaining club. Unfortunately it sounds at least 6. Would be a great POD to have for round 23.Sicily gone for 6. At least it makes the hold/trade decision easy.
Yeah i agree they gotta stop the real dangerous sling tackle but 3 weeks for a mis judgement is a bit harsh.Aren't Diesel, Platten and others still in the process of claiming compensation?
I'm not saying ban the tackle or speckie mark because sometimes people get hurt and they could sue later. I believe that there needs to be strict rules in place regarding tackling and harsh punishment if you fail to execute it within the rules because of the consequences if you don't. If you have a players arm(s) pinned so they can't protect themselves and you dump them head first into the turf, whether you didn't mean to hurt them or not should be a mandatory 4 week ban IMO. It puts the onus on players to execute a tackle within the rules that are designed to minimise head injuries.

Nic didn't pin the arms but he copped a week. The player involved wasnt strechered off either.
This is how it starts. It only ends with touch footy IMO.
It concerns me a little.
Thinking about posting puppies in protest
I'm going to have to respectively (and probably biasedly) disagree.Deserved 4. That was just nasty and completely unnecessary.
This is exactly my view on the tackle.I'm going to have to respectively (and probably biasedly) disagree.
Nyhuis only ever was pulling him down – Gray tries to stand up and break the tackle which caused the “hop and slam” motion. Nyhuis was horizontal and couldn't have possibly lifted him up with any malice (unlike the "dirty dog" he was made out to be). Unlucky string of circumstances and if Gray dropped to his knees it would have been a perfect tackle.
I would have been happy with 2 based on result, which is what the AFL is trying to stamp out. But I honestly don't know if Nyhuis could have done anything different, as far as he was concerned Gray still had the ball and was pulling him to ground still. Possibly try and force him to fall the other way onto his free arm but these are split second decisions and probably no time to react in these situations.
